Hi all! My Veterinarian does a lot of in-home euthanasia. She was called out to euthanize a healthy 5 year old boarder collie mix who is a rear leg tripawd. Why you ask? Because Katie's owner slipped, fell, and broke her hip - and is now is a nursing home/rehab facility, and the family didn't want to have to care for Katie. Of course my Veterinarian did not euthanize her, but instead she brought her home.
Katie is a rear leg tripawd, who broke her leg and her owner could not afford the orthopedic repair, so she had the leg amputated instead. She sweet, happy, gets along with other dogs, and has no problem around cats. She's healthy, on all of her HW preventatives, she's 5 years old and looking for a new home. She's a little overweight and is currently about 35lbs but could stand to lose 7 or 8lbs to be her best weight. If anyone is Central Florida (preferred) is looking for a new tripawd companion - please email me so I can send pictures and get your information to pass along. Thank you - Anne

Anne thank you for letting us know. Poor girl! I hope she can find a home quickly. Her human must be so sad.
