Ooooo. Look at this clever, athletic lovebug! Charley is a 5 year old Labrador Retriever + Bulldog mix. Here’s what the Animal Humane Society has to say about him:
My caretaker became too ill to care for me. Another shelter was caring for me before I came to Animal Humane Society to find a home.
I’ll be a loving companion, but it may take me a little longer to acclimate to new people and new environments. A quieter, low-activity home would give me the opportunity to get used to new things at my own pace.
Don’t forget about me! I’ve been waiting for a new home for a while. The staff and volunteers know just how special I am. I could be a great pet if you give me a chance. Please take a moment to get to know me — we might be a perfect match!
I love to be busy, both physically and mentally. I'll enjoy seeing and doing things with my new family, and prefer an active household. Energetic dogs like me need a companion who can provide adequate mental stimulation and exercise, such as running, hiking, or playing Frisbee.
Note: Adoption centers open at 1pm the fourth Tuesday of every month

Alas, Charley was returned after a few days and is still looking for his person/people. Sometimes it's just not the right fit. It happens. Better to come to that conclusion sooner than later.
Fortunately, the update to his profile enlightens the mismatch and helps a future adopter understand him better:
Young children make me a little nervous. I need to go to a home without kids under the age of eight.

Thanks for explaining, I should have done that! Hope he can find his new furmily real soon.
The latest on our dear boy, Charley: It turns out he was adopted five years ago as a pup into a loving home from the Animal Humane Society (where he has now returned). He’s unfortunately back since his owner fell ill and was unable to care for him. Now he’s looking for a new loving home. You can see a video and the story here on the AHS IG feed.
