Hi everyone,
So even though Brandi is not tripawd, she is a GSD mix and her current owners don't feel they can give her the attention she deserves since they are commuters. They are hoping to find her a new home so that they don't have to take her back to the pound. I have already talked to the admins about this and we are hoping a GSD nor cal rescue can take her. Will keep you posted on that, but in the mean time this is Brandi!
Name: Brandi
Location: San Jose, CA (Northern California)
Breed: GSD mix
Adopted from: city pound, came in as a stray so history is unknown.
Age: 1 year
Shots: Up to date
Things to Consider: She has some separation anxiety.
Contact: PM me and I will give you details on how to contact Brandi's current owners.
Some additional information from her owners:
Brandi is a sweet girl (can't say it enough), walks great on a leash, is housebroken, and gets along famously with our other dog. She's picked up on "sit", "down", and "off" (waiting for the food bowl and to give up toys) and we're working on "stay". While she learns quickly, Brandi is still learning her basic manners (namely not jumping as a greeting) and would greatly benefit from basic obedience classes. She is very friendly and loves to be around people. She would love to be your lap dog, but she's content with laying at your feet. We don't know how Brandi will be with children, though based on her response to other adults and children passing us on our walks, I believe she will be good with older children. She is one year-old and still very much a puppy, so while she learns her manners when greeting people and playing, young children would be an inappropriate match. Brandi gets along great with our smaller retriever mix and did great when we took her to the dog park. She is our other dog's shadow, following her and mimicking what she does, so a well-trained canine companion will only help in her training.
Brandi needs an active household with owners that are home more often than they are gone, preferably with another dog. She would do best with owners that are home, can take her to work with them, and/or have a backyard with a tall fence, and definitely needs daily walks/runs. Currently, she stays in a crate during the day, and while she settles down, she's still anxious for the first little while. She needs another way to spend her day!

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
You know Comet's mom can't handle seeing GSD mixes needing a home!
Do you think we would have monkeybutt if there had been any young/puppy sheps available in my area at that time? None. Zip. Zilch. We even drove across town late one night to see a mini-shepherd mix posted on Craig's list that some young kids found! We were maniacs and couldn't get there fast enough!
Oh sure...a mini-shepherd? How about a 5lb chihuaha!! We laughed all the way home.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
OOooooooh my Mom says Wyatt needs a sister! But he's not mature enough...yet.

Just got news that the GSD nor cal rescue won't take her since she is not "GSD" enough. I will contact Brandi's owner about this and also to see if there is any update on Brandi's situation. Will keep you guys informed!

Oh Chloe, I'm so sorry. It stinks, but the breed-specific rescue groups have to stick to their mission to find homes for their dogs, or else risk losing funding. I know there are other rescue groups out there who can possibly help. Please friend me on Facebook and I'll help get the word out there too. Paws are crossed here.
