With 15,278+ Forum Topics, at least 214,892 Forum Posts, and more than 1,322 Tripawds News blog posts, this site contains a massive amount of information about pet cancer and amputation recovery and care for dogs and cats. In our continuing efforts to facilitate finding relative forum topics and blog posts for anyone searching, we are happy to announced that the new enhanced Forum Search function now also returns relative results from the Tripawds News blog !
Use the Advanced Search at the top of any forum page to expand the enhanced options for refining your search. By default, the current forum you are browsing will be selected. To expand your search for forum topics, select All Forums. Narrow your results by searching for multiple keywords or a specific phrase. Finally, you can search just post content, topic titles only, or both.
Now you can also select the Include Blog Posts option to find relative News blog posts too. Switch from Forum and Blog Search Results to view results found in each. Enhanced previews are also now provided, including forum post excerpts with highlighted keywords searched and an extended panel showing user and topic details.
Blog Search Results include the post title, date, author and preview. Links will open in the same window, so use your back button to return to your search results. Or, click the Last Search Results link under the search field to view results from your most recent search, from your current user session. Note that the results shown are from the Tripawds News blog only. You can search all blogs here .
Any questions?

WOW!!! Love the new option!! 😎 A lot of work was going on behind the scenes.....and a lot of effort to come up with instructions. Really like the visuals.
Can't wait to "practice". And, for some of "us", practice may take a few times, or a hundred!
THANKS ADMIN GUY!!

Lol, I tried to reply before but my post is still floating in cyberspace, hehe. Is there a way to add one more option into there so that we can look it up by member name too?
Just thought I would throw that out there
I love the rest of the options, this is going to be so helpful.
Thank you!!

Actually, yes. Though we are evaluating the impact of the new blog search before adding any additional queries.
If there was a choice of searching blog posts or by member name, which would be preferred?
Discuss...

I think being able to look up blogs would probably be most beneficial to all of us, I think that can sometimes (for me) be a bit harder. I think I would forego the member name if I had to choose. I am happy either way

IF...IF...I understand the question, (which I probably dont vecause my answer is different from Jackie,), I would find it easier searching blogs by memeber names.
Example; The blog titles often don't have a cat or dog name in it. It might say "Adentures of My Tripawd", or "Brave New World", etc.
I hate to use this as an example, but it's a real one. Let's say someone only makes one forum post under "Coping with Loss" (or any other thread for that matter) Almost always they have made blog posts though. Before responding, I would want to search blogs to get background info. With just "blog titles" it can be hard scrolling through trying to figure out the right vlog.
With member name, I can go right to it.
Make sense???
PS. If we go as it is now, is it possible to include member name in each title somehow, someway?

This functionality areadedy exists.
Search All Tripawds Members Here
The Tripawds Member Directory allows for searching blog and comment activity by member name. enter the member name to find any blog posts published, or comments on posts by that specific userer.
You can find any member's blog by searching keywords found in the blog URL, title, or description.
Neither of these searches indexes return results for forum topics, only memebers or blogogs.
ALSO: The existing Forums Member Search already allows for searching forum topics by member name, which returns results for all topics started and are posted in by any specific member. We are still evaluating the capabilities (and impact) of a new Enhanced Forum Search by Member.
...is it possible to include member name in each title somehow, someway?
The new forum/blog search does exactly this.
Forum search results now include extended information including Memeber Name, Forum, Topic, Post Link, date and and number of Replies with keywords searched highlighted.
Blog search results include the member name, date, post title and link, with excerpt for posts found in the Tripawds News blog (not all members' Tripawds Blogs ).

Ohhhh myyyyy.
Okay, I get the "search all blogs here ", as long as you can remeber a key word in title.👏👏
And I get the "Gorums Membet Search"👏👏
Let me preface with I haven't practiced doing things the new way yet, so maybe therein lies all my answers
So this says does not use user name
The Blogs Directory searches by blog URL, title or description, not user names
And this says you do not use ise name
The Blogs Directory searches by blog URL, title or description, not user name
The Tripawd Membrr Director'y takes me to another page.....search all blog memvers....type in Krun15 amd got nuttin'
So, say I want to find a blog by user name Michelle, how dat be done...and use one of your visuals please, if not too much trouble ( I kmow it is thpugh)!! My android tavlet understands pictures better😎

Uhh...we'll have to get back to you on that one.
The Tripawd Membrr Director'y takes me to another page.....search all blog memvers....
The Members Directory is for searching members, by username, and returns results for nay blog posts or blog comments.
The Blogs Directory searches member blogs, by indexing titles, subdomains (URL) and descriptions.
type in Krun15 amd got nuttin'...
You will get no results from the Blogs Directory for Krun15 because no blog exists with that keyword in the title, URL or description. That is a username.
Search the Members Directory for krun15 and you will find that member:
With results for the member's Tripawds User Bio (if completed), all blog posts, and all blog comments:
Thank you for helping us confirm that this function is working exactly as expected.
So, say I want to find a blog by user name Michelle, how dat be done...
If you know a user name, search the Members Directory. See visuals above.
NOTE:
1. Not all members have blogs, so you may never find a blog for certain usernames.
2. A user must have published at least one blog post for a search to return any blog results, and made at least one blog comment to return any results for comments.
3. Blog and Member searches to not return result for forum posts.
4. The new forum/blog search introduced with this topic will return results only from the Tripawds News blog .
