Okay. INuse this for google..amazon...tripawds..taking pictures and videos..posting to photobucket and youtube.....just like I ALWAYS did with my Acer!
Well, ever since I got thisis July, my gigabytes have gone from UNXER SIX (which is what my bill plan covers) to about fifteen..eighteen a month!! They disconnected my google plus photo back up..which one techie said I could keep...another one said no...it's using lots of data. And it's still a SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL! I've got payment plans out of the wa zoo with them!
One techie said looking at pics and viceos on tripawds wasn't a problem....one techie said yes..Im using a lot of data everytime I look at one
One techie disconnected running apps....another techie said that's not the problem.
And I've toldthem a million times I don't download books, movies or look at other you tube except what's on here!!!! As if I knew how to do anynof the stuff anyway!! And no, no one else uses it and it says "secure" when it does get a signal.
I have a jet pack...don't get a signal out here so this jet thing is supposed to get a stronger signal. The salesperson said this Samsung has wireless...or wi fi built in so I wouldnt need a jet pack....PINOCCHIO!! Still have to walk atound yzrd trying to get satellite signal.
And the ADMIN guy is saying...for the love of goD...get to the point........I don't know either after all this.....I guess itr something like.......
Can anyne thing of any reason why a Samsung Tablet (it's a little older version) would be using so many gigabytes? And does it use a lot of data looking at pics here....when it NEVER did before?? That's whate driving me crazy.....I'm using it just like m Acer. And NEVER went over six...always below....grrrrrrr

I know this was meant for Admin Guy (and I am Nooooo admin guy) but thought I might be able to help.... 
First of all, HOLY MOLY that's a lot of GBs. My first thought was someone is stealing your wifi. If you are sure your wifi is secure, and you aren't streaming any movies etc, I would have to guess somethings are possibly up and running in the background that you aren't aware of. Can you go to your settings --> data usage and take a screen shot of it for us? It should show you a breakdown of what all is using data, and we might be able to help you more once we see that.
PS, Not exactly sure which tablet version you have, but try pressing the "home" button and the "power" button at the same time, and it should take a screen shot.

Okay, see that little green robot looking thing?? On Sept. 10th. It said something like "remove apps & users"....4.22 GB
From Aug. 23 to Sept. 10. That grremn robot said 19.78 GB
I cannot tell you the frustration having to spend HOURS on the phone with them everytime I get a bill and everytime having to go over the same thing over and over! Every blankety blank time theye putting me on a "payment plan" because I can't pay the bill.
I know Im sounding panicky...but I cannot stay on this site and will have to try and sell this tablet!!!!!!

Managing bandwidth usage is always a B1†¢#! And it seems you have more than a few variables to consider...
Usage:
First of all, the homepage of these forums is approximately 175KB. (Topics with lots of photos could reach twice that 175K, but likely no more. Videos will not use any bandwidth until you actually hit play.) So, you would have to load the site approximately 6,000 times to download one gigabyte.
Uploading videos and raw photos will quickly consume large amounts of data!
Your screenshots indicate that Firefox used .42GB in four days, that's 100±MB a day, or an approximate average of 3GB/month. Not outrageous at all. Though the chart does show a rather steep increase in usage.

Now, if by "green robot" you mean the Android OS reported using that much data, there is your problem, not web browsing! The tablet is/was clearly downloading updates for the OS and/or apps.
On the iPad there is an option to turn off "background app refresh". Look for something like that in your settings to ensure you don't have apps running in the background.
Also be sure to quit any other apps that you are not currently using. They may be open and loading data with you knowing or needing it.
Finally, make sure the device does not automatically download OS updates.
Service
Now... your device apparently has both mobile data and wifi. You also explained that you have a Jetpack for mobile broadband.
Going over your mobile data usage plan quota can definitely get expensive. The usage screenshot for mobile data usage, however, is a bit confusing. (A longer time frame may be more helpful.) It seems to suggest, however, that you used .01GB from 09/15 - 09/18±, ten megabytes in three days is no big deal.
But which service are you using most? Why are you using mobile data if you have wifi and a broadband service plan for the jet pack?
You should monitor your usage and switch from one service to the other if reaching the limit for that device.
Not sure what the 2GB warning is but if you're reaching the limit of mobile data for the tablet, turn off mobile data and use wifi instead. The opposite goes wifi if reaching limits on the Jetpack.
Summary
If your usage patterns have honestly not changed since getting the new tablet, your web browsing is likely not the cause for the spike in usage. Nothing has changed in the backend here at tripawds that would cause such an increase in usage.
And if your green robot is eating data by the gigabyte, the OS is clearly the issue.
Recommendations:
- Close all other apps when not in use
- Turn Off "Backround App Refresh" or "Auto Updates" or something similar to keep apps from updating.
- Disable any auto-updates for the Android OS
- Reduce file size of raw photos and videos before uploading
- Monitor usage of data service plan and switch from one to the other when reaching limits
- Turn off mobile data if reaching mobile data service plan limit
- Turn off wifi if reaching jetpack service plan limit
- Punt!
We know this is frustrating, and wish we could be of better assistance.

Onrpe thing I know the "techie people" that was odd.......I have to keep the "wi fi" on even when n using the jet pack or it won't connect...it has to connect to both......the tablet will work outside without the pack....the pack won't work inside without the wi if....and the wi fi won't work inside the pack.......huh?
ANYWAY....AGAIN.....THIS HAS GIVEN AN IMMENSE AMOUNT OF HOPE that "they" can figure this out from here.
As always, this kind of help is waaaay beyond what any other Admin Guys would ever consider doing for anyone!!!!! You hav pe no idea how EMPOWERED I feel now goingninto Verizon! And I'm going n in with a sign stamped to my forhead..."Don't even think of trying to sell me something!!"

Sally, I think verizon has changed something. Our phones ,we both just got the iPhone 5, are eating up data also. Do you have a landline phone? We do because we don't get cell signal so in case of emergency. Our internet through them is not real expensive. Thought maybe that would help so when you are home you are always hooked up to wifi. I just went through my phone and shut a bunch of stuff off. I think some of the newer devices just eat up more data doing stuff we are not even aware that they are doing. Then when you get someone like me who is basically technology illiterate........well. I hope you get it figured out. Hugs from Lori and Ty

We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

I know Verizon switched from 3GTE to 4 GTE (as if that means anything to me) Actual l y, the Verizon "greeter" at the door told me this and said it's taking about a year for them to get all the kinks worked out....and because my Tower is for a rural area they may not beworking n i n it very fast......if anyone has ever had "dial ul", you'll have an idea of how slow this thing is.
I cannot use my trac phone inside because it won't get signal so I DO have a regular land line phone....HOWEVER, I have that thing hooked up to some sort of jet back thing too and iwt works off of a signal..That's the n ine thing they sole me thst actually SAVED me some money!

Shhhh....im at verizon right now......poor salesman....everytime he comes back with a credit offer.....while I appreciate it.....anything over my six giga needs to be absorbed by verizon because the techs should have fixed the problem with the first phone call!

Oh....and another proud moment....when I walked in I announced very nicely that I was NOT buying ANYTHING!!! So, when I asked my BFF Bobby what I needed to do if storage was running out....he said I needed to BUY.....then he caught himself and said I needed to delete some photos, videps. I kinda cringed at the thought........He did say that I could buy a memory card and....shhhhhhh.....I could get them cheaper at Walmart!!!
