Hi - I know we lost the post counts once before (the Top Posters thing that's usually on the bottom of the forum's page and the counts that would appear under someone's avatar), but then they came back. Now they are gone again, so I was wondering if maybe they'd magically (?) reappear again.
Personally, I like seeing the counts under folks' avatars, because sometimes someone will post (who maybe is new or who hasn't posted in a while) and I think, "Why don't I recognize this person's user name?" and then I start to question whether my memory is failing. I used to always look at their # of posts and then I'd realize "oh, ok, this person is new - this is only their 2nd post and i must have missed the first one" or whatever...
Ok, and I admit that the competitive side of my personality liked watching my #s climb. I was working on hitting 2000, man! Now I can only see my count if I click on my Profile - and that's just not the same.
So... just wondering if those are gone for good. (Maybe I'm the only one who cares??)
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
I was kinda wondering the same...

I noticed this the other day and wondered if it was a side effect of a new upgrade. I can get to the post counts by clicking on the avatar and seeing the profile, because they are listed there. So they aren't really lost, but they certainly aren't as convenient as they were.

Gone for good, for now, yes.
Maintaining site performance is our top priority here. In our continuing efforts to reduce server load spikes we are doing everything we can to reduce the number of database queries and http requests. We believe the "Member Since" date clearly identifies both new members and those who have been around a while while.
We hope this answers your question, thanks for the feedback!

I used the count when I didn"t recognize a member too... the Member Since date is useful, but if the person has been a member for a long time, but only has a few posts I know they are not so active and I haven't just forgotten who they are.
But I will vote for better performance!

As somepawdy who has been around furever but just can't keep up with the super posters I am glad to have the counters gone. Don't have to feel inadequate anymore! And if its all for the greater good then ya got 13 paws up here!
