We are attempting to work with Shelby's blog.
We keep running out of space. We see a lot of blogs with more pictures, even video compared to what we have. We want to add one more picture at the top of the title page but it tells us we ain't got no more room. If we go back to the original looking blog page would that help? We crop the photo's before we move them to the blog but maybe they are not small enough. Once the photo's are on the blog how do we downsize the photo's?
Help me Mr Wizard!!!!
Thanks for asking. Hopefully these answers will help clarify the matter for others too.
All free Tripawds Blogs come with 25MB of upload space. Supporter Blogs are given one full gigabyte of space, among other enhanced features, including instant ad removal. A detailed comparison of free vs. supporter blog features can be found on Jerry's About page. Blogs can be upgraded atomatically at anytime by visiting the Supporter subscription tab in your dashboard.
To answer your questions...
Changing your blog theme will not affect your upload space quota. So no, changing back to the default theme will not make a difference. You can use any theme, without it making a difference.
I took a look at your Media Library, and the smaller photos you have cropped are a great size for web display. You also have, however, a number of huge images in your library. Many of these are a few megabytes each. They are the ones that have consumed your upload quota so quickly.
Once a photo has been uploaded, it's file size cannot be reduced. You can re-size how it displays onscreen, but this does no shrink the file itself. To regain some of your upload space quota, you would need to delete the large images from your Media Library, and re-upload downsized/cropped versions. You would then of course need to edit any existing posts that had these images.
So, the easiest way to add more photos to your blog would be to subscribe for Supporter status via your Blog Dashboard Supporter Tab. Or, you could avoid upgrading by embedding images hosted elsewhere. Simply follow the instructions in Jerry's recent post about how to make the most of your free blog account.
Just let me know if any of this is still unclear. We look forward to seeing more pictures of beautiful Shelby and all her furry friends!
