A little bird (the rare spotted Sally Bird) mentioned to me that it was getting THAT time of year. We, of course are talking about Halloween. My personal favorite but probably not for the pups for they have to endure all the costumes fitted over their bodies. But I remind them that in exchange for food, a warm place to sleep and lots of loving it is a small price to pay. Not sure if they agree. So Jim and Rene, you may have your plates too full for a Halloween costume contest but I think we would be happy with the chance for us tripawds and quadpawd kitties and pups to dazzle each other with our costumes. What say Tripawd Nation??

WOOF!! WOOF!!! Penny IS Halloween as far as I'm concerned!!
Maybe Karen can come along and add the links to some of the past costumes our dogs and cats had to endure! And yes Penny, it's a small fee to pay once a year in eexchange for rent free lodging and food!
The picture is Blink as the Headless Horseman...or was it Hank? I think Hank. Penny makes all of the costumes and is very, very creative!!

Oh good!! I love all the costumes. Unfortunately Mona is not keen on wearing costumes unless she is sleeping. I'll see what I can do.

Yes, the plates are very full with the upcoming 2016 Fall Tripawds Foundation Auction!
So unfortunately, there will be no official costume contest this year.
...but I think we would be happy with the chance for us tripawds and quadpawd kitties and pups to dazzle each other with our costumes.Â

If anyvody cares to take the lead of coordinating some sort of official unofficial contest, tabulating votes and writing an announcement blog post after Halloween...go for it!

OMD! These are scarily good. Bosch and Jazz and Hank! Plus I just had a look through last year's thread and saw Merry Myrtle as Raggedy Ann, an image I shall not forget in a hurry. Is this an American thing, this dressing up for Halloween? Or a Tripawds Nation thing, or both? I don't want to let my girls down, and they will have their costumes, I promise. But I have to say, I'm a little (a lot) intimidated by the standard of the entries so far.... 
Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, 20 November 2023, adopted 12 January 2024.
Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...

I know dressing up (humans at least) are an American thing for Halloween! I always dressed Shelby ... Halloween or not.. that poor pooch had her fair share of public shaming (even more once I got a FB account). I'll have to dig through the archives and find some of Shelby's past outfits.Â
Jasper and I don't play dress-up as that was a special thing between me and Shelby but when you see the photos ... you might think that "specialness" was one-sided!

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
It is both 🙂   Don't feel intimidated. It's all in good fun. My dogs love dressing up. Sassy was a Lion one year. One of my favorite costumes for her.Â
