Okay, jumping the gun a bit, so don't hesitate to say "details to folow". You have enough on your plate!
Don't understand.how this works: (yeah, no surprise there!)
Someone "bids" on a certain day....competing bids come.in. Guess.this is all.handled by some fancy smancy computer program.
Then, the person who donated.the item is notified??
Guess they have to.make an immediate payment to PayPal or charge card first??
Then, that person gets a mailing address from "headquarters" and ships the item.to the winner?? Guess they.need to be small.items so there are.no costly shipping fees?
To piggyback on Michelle getting a donation package from Petsmart, do we jave to.provide them with some sort.of "paperwork" so they can document for their purposes?
And I.mean it...."details to follow" is a great response for now! Most people already know.how this works.anyway

These are great questions, Sally, and I am sure Admin and team have thought about that stuff too! I was thinking about that today about procuring items and if we send them to headquarters and they go to the winners from their once the bids are closed. OR if we ship direct from our location (i.e., if I get a petsmart basket too).
With most auctions I have been involved with, you'll need to register a card to bid. And the auction usually has set time frames for when sections or items "close". So maybe it's live for a week or so and lots of bidding down to the wire and BOOM ... click and win!
I suspect their will be proper forms to get items with the foundations 501(c)3 number showing their charity status. This is a great fundraiser idea and one that will surely generate great publicity for our cause! I'm super excited to be involved!!!
PS - Sally you can totally help getting auction items too!! I bet you could get stuff from your Starbucks and local Petsmart - easy peezy.. who would say no to you!?

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

More details to follow after our committee meets but for now...since the Tripawds doghouse on wheels has zero storage space, and we want to keep shipping costs low for the Foundation and others, our goal is to work with as many companies as possible who will ship their donated items directly to the winner.

I have seen some on FB that says plus shipping & handling so that is included in the amount of the bid??? I don't know if you want to do something like that or what? I don't mind shipping the things I get and if like DR Pam, Megan and others want to send to me once it is done I can do the shipping??? That way we know we have it and big companies want to donate and can ship that would be great too. But how about pictures so people can see what they are bidding on??? sorry just thoughts as I am working and seeing this too

We do our best to make that clear on the donation page, and in every post we publish. The Tripawds Foundation EIN # is also in every donation acknowledgement email. We also have this sponsor solicitation letter available.

I suppose you will let us know (who are donating items) a time frame as sometimes I don't get motivated until a fire is lit under my behind. Then I have a very slow creative mind so the longer the notice the better for me. Sounds like a great fund raiser.
