Thank you all for all your support and thanks for the advise about water treadmills. We have very limited access to rehab specialists where we are but we are going for our first appointment/assessment next week so I will discuss the use of the treadmill in detail. There is a dog swimming pool close to us so I am hoping to start some swimming with them. We have a dam on our property so they both love swimming but we are in the middle of our Summer here so the water level is too low, it's more like a mud puddle right now.

Swimming is great, but it is not the same as water treadmill work. The benefit of hydrotherapy comes from a controlled environment where the dogs stretch their legs to reach the bottom. Check the links on the Resources page for finding a certified therapist near you.
