I tell ya', sometimes our fellow tripawd family can just about give us a heart attack when we don't hear from them for awhile.! Then you see a post come up and you hold your breath...................OMD what a rough start Willow has had!! But FINALY on the road to recovery! YAY!

Has she been at the vet's this entire time?

What a homecoming this will be! And I know she'll even do better once she is home!

PLEASE, PLEASE, keep us posted! For her to go through the rigors of a major surgery, adjust to three legs, and add all the other crap on to of that? WOW! She IS one strong, braved, determined IRL! Willow is a lovely gentle name! Now I think you can add WARRIOR Willow!! What a fighter! I know being surrounded by your love is very healing to her.

Please keep us posted and send s pictures when she gets home.

Look forward to many, many ore celebrations! We love pawrys round here!
Did I mention we like updates too?:-) :-)

WILLOW IS HOME AT LAST!!!!! She is doing great! She wanted to jump on and off the bed already. I ordered her a ramp online and I hope she adjusts to it. She seems happy to be home. She is still on 9 different medications! But at least she is home where she belongs.

With all the drugs she's probably high as a kite and riding pink elephants:-)
I know you are so thrilled! to see her happy!

I really admire you for holding it all together....this was more "Murphy's Law" than anyone should have to e sure!

As you know, as the hospital meds start fading out and the first e art of bala sing the pain meds takes over, Willow may have some more rough days ahead....and maybe of!!

can tell you, when recovery is over, you will be amazed at how happy and gleeful she will be! The sparkle co es back tenfold!

So happy for you borh! HOME SWEET HOME and Willow by your side------no greater joy!!

big-grinWillow has been home for 2 days and 2 nights now and she is doing great, although she did manage to pull out 2 of her stitches yesterday, and earned herself a trip back to the hospital so they put a couple staples in. She is getting around really well, she's eating well and sleeping thru the night.

P.S. I finally got a picture of her on my profile.

Update on Willow: Willow had a major setback in her recovery. She came home last Tuesday and was doing well until Friday morning when she was unable to get up. After rushing her to the vet it was determined that she was having a "neurologic episode", which turned out to be seizures. She was in the emergency hospital over the weekend and then transferred to a neurologists' hospital on Monday. Her condition was really bad over the weekend and I thought I was going to loose her. But by Monday she was doing better. The neurologist did a spinal tap and a lot of other tests that determined that she had a nasty bacterial infection that had caused her to become septic and wreaked havoc on her organs. It also had spread to her brain which caused the seizures. Fortunately, once they got her on the right antibiotics she started to improve. Her last blood tests were all normal, and there doesn't seem to be any long term damage. And she hasn't had any more seizures in the last 3 days. I'm so happy she is back home. She is still a bit weak and needs help getting around, but she is one tough little dog who never stopped fighting. She is a miracle dog, with an incredible story of survival.

Oh my gosh how terribly scary! Kudos to you for acting so quickly. Did the docs have any idea what might have caused the infection?

I'm so glad she is fighting this thing. What a fighter indeed.

Wow, there have been rough roads to recovery but I think Willow's is the toughest!

Having an epileptic dog I know how scary seizures can be, especially when they first start happening.  I'm so glad that the docs have been able to quickly diagnose and get the right meds going.

Willow is one tough pup- a true Tripawd Warrior Princess!

I can't believe I've missed all these updates since surgery. HOLY COW! What a journey. You're a trooper for sticking to it and not getting too discouraged. I'm so proud of Willow for fighting so hard for a second chance!

I hope she gets back to herself soon :)
