What a handsome boy Greg is! Glad to hear he is out of surgery and doing well.

My Otis is 1/2 Great Dane and 1/2 English Mastiff.   He was 125 lbs when he was diagnosed at the end of December. The 1st couple of weeks were a little hard but he's so worth it.  He just had his 2 month Ampuversary and has been doing great and loves to run. Tripawds have a hard time walking slow.

Hoping Greg has a speedy recovery.

Otis - 121 lbs pre amp - 114 lbs post amp and now 118 lb Great Dane - English Mastiff X.  Started limping on 12/24/16.  Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 12/28/16 - amputation of front left leg on 1/6/17.  Stitches out and 1st round of Chemo on 1/19/17.   2nd round of Carboplatin on 2/10/17 - 3rd round on 3/2/2017.  4th round was scheduled for 3/22/17 - however due to low WBC postponed - 4th Chemo completed on 3/28/17.  Had breathing difficulties, stayed in Tufts ICU overnight.  Due for 2 more rounds of Chemo but we are opting to go with homeopathy with Dr. Loops instead.

Hi Brian and Mr Greg 💗

Let me just say what a gorgeous doggie you are, love your picture 🐶💕

Me and my Great Dane girl Eurydice (77kg before amp) are soooooo pleased surgery went well and they are keeping him until for the first few days!

My girl came back 3 days after surgery and I could have got her 1 day earlier but just felt more reassured she was being looked after by pros during the first few days.

So now that the road to recovery has begun for your gorgeous boy, you will see how happy Mr Greg is going to be on 3 🐾🐾🐾

Eurydice has been deliriously happy and vigorously hopping for over 10 months now so no reason your cutie will be any different, right?

If you like to see how happy and fit she has been you can check the Anything Goes Forums and have a look at Eurydice's travels in Europe (5, 7 1/2 and 9 months after amputation), we've done 3 lots so far and hopefully will do some more travels to celebrate her one year mark, if she is still with us (fingers and paws crossed!)

Is Mr Greg a front or a back legger?

Cannot wait to have updates on his progress and pictures, lots of pictures, too!

Sending you an avalanche of kisses and many, many cuddles to your handsome boy 😘😘💕🐶🐾💕

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)

Great to hear Mr Greg is progressing well 👌🏽 he'll be back home in no time !

Being a front legger you may want to use a t-shirt under a soft harness to protect the incision.

Eurydice wore t-shirts until stitches were removed 10 days or so after surgery.

Sending you a big hug 😘

ABSOLUTELY GREAT news! :-):-):-)So glad you got to see Greg and he is doing so well! I know that's a huge relief! :-):-)And just so you know, sometimes the dogs have a bit of a crash once all the hospital meds have gotten out of their system. So if he's not quite as perky when you get him home as he is at the hospital, that may, indeed, be the reason.

And to hear that he's already up on three legs and handling it like a champ is spectacular! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Can't wait to see more pictures and can't wait to hear all about the homecoming! Good job everybody!

Hugs!

That's really good to hear!! Manni stayed for that amount of time, too, because of the fluid drain.

(actually, come to think of it: the amp was on a Thursday too and we didn't get to take him home til Tuesday 🙂 )

To a speedy recovery and a happy homecoming!! Keep us posted Brian!
