Oh gosh, we are all keeping all.paws crossed and sending tripawd positive energy! She is going to be so glad to be home with you!
We MUST have pictures!
Looking forward to hearing all the good news tomorrow!
Love!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Well, Belle regurgitated yesterday around 7pm and her fever went up slightly to 102.7, so they are keeping her while they run a few more tests specifically checking for pancreatic issues, which she is prone to getting.
I'm visiting her this afternoon. I can't wait to see her sweet face.
Hoping she can fight whatever is going on!
Brittney
And we can't wait for you to see her too....a d to hear all about it....maybe even with pictures!!
The temp increase is soooo slight....And a little rregurgitation coukd be related to the antibiotics AND the stress of being away from home. I really, really hope they let you bring her home, even if it meant you had to take her back as an out patient for more tests.
Lots of.love

Poor girl. I hope they let you bring her home too, although hopefully, she is on the recovery end of whatever she had going on.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
I wonder - did they check her for the flu? (do they do a swab like they do for people?) Her symptoms are similar...

We have Belle home as of last night. She was finally diagnosed with pancreatitis. She is DEFINITELY prone to acquiring this illness and has experienced minor instances with this issue since she was a puppy.
We feel this happened due to the myriad of foods we had to give her to eat before diagnosis and after amputation.
I'm happy to report that she is doing so much better and is sleeping soundly on our patio at the moment. She walked around outside today and seems to be in the best spirits possible for a 14 year old pup who is recovering from pancreatitis and a rear leg amputation.
You all have been more than supportive and hopeful during Belle's journey and we truly cannot thank you enough. Please keep us in your thoughts, and we will do the same for each of you!
Much love always,
Brittney and Belle

BELLE IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
She is one tough cookie, that's for sure!! Quite a few hurdles for any dog...And being a senior on top of it all....yeah, she's one tough cookie!! Sounds like she is doing very well.
We are all continuing to cheer for Belle!

Pancreatitis is miserable. My dog, Elsie, had several bouts when she was younger. It just gets them so down and you feel so helpless. I am SO glad to hear she is on the mend. What a trooper she is!
Love to all of you,
Meg and Clare (and Elsie!) xxx

Update on Belle.
She has been doing fantastic since she came home - eager to eat, going for walks at the park, and I've seen more tail wagging than I've seen in a couple of years. Less pain looks so good on her.
We met with our oncologist yesterday and have decided to move forward with chemo in an effort to keep the cancer in her other leg (that could show its ugly face again) at bay. We know that we cannot cure her but we are hoping we can continue to extend her quality of life for as long as we can.
Your continued support means everything to us! You all were right - when we didn't think she could take any more she proved us wrong and has become the miracle in our lives! I am so happy my brother sent me a link to this forum when we started this journey a few months ago!

Belle truly is an amazing Miracle pup! To hear how well this...er.."seasoned" girl is doing just warms my heart! She has overcome hurdle after hurdle!
Clearly she is pain free and that's what it's all about! You have given her the gift of quality and she has given you the gift of learning to treasure the NOW, with no worries about the tomorrows! Wallow in the joy! You both deserve it! 🙂

Hmmm. Are there any bumps, like ingrown hairs?

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I provided an update on Belle. So here ya go!
Belle is 4 1/2 months post amputation and is doing well! She goes for two walks a day, eats, sleeps and gets tons of love. We are so thankful for every day we have with her.
Since her surgery she has received radiation three times on her remaining rear leg to keep the cancer from growing rapidly. We chose to do this as she still is hopping around happily and as long as she keeps fighting and enjoying her life, we will fight right along with her.
We see our oncologist next week and will know how much the cancer has grown in her remaining rear leg as he measured the mass at our last visit. At that time, we will discuss another round of radiation since she can safely receive it every 3 months.
One final thing, does anyone have some good tips on supplements and such we can give her to keep her feeling as good as possible?
Again, thank you ALL for your love and support of my sweet Belle. We wouldn't have felt as calm about her journey through all of this without the words of advice provided on this forum.
Love,
Brittney & Belle
