Well, we put in an adoption application for Pluto, a 2 year old rescue Dane. Don't think we'll be successful though, as they want him to go to a home with a companion dog, but just applying has made us feel so much better and realized that we are indeed ready to give another home to a wonderful animal. That poster of the Last Will was so moving and really helped make our minds up. Watch this space...

Okay...my reply got completely screwed up...s o mehow I hit reply, and a smile face showed up in the middle!

Anyway! You are still in the throes of grief so try not to revisit what you would, or would.not do, in the future. I think it's a nai response but not one that will hold mich validity one way or another unless, doG forbid, you are ever faced with that pice of crap disease again. Besides, it's hard to measure extra time for spoiling and loving from their humans from a dog,.s perspective. Pretty sure they'd vote ofe the extra "spoiled rotten" time anyday!

And his name is PLUTO???? Love thst name!!! Quick! Call the adoption agency and let them know you'll adopt a compan for Pluto!!clap

We'll be glad to email them some letters ro let them know Pluto could not have a better home than this one!!

Keep us posted!

Love to you and Emma!

HI guys, i was perusing the web and found this site that my best mate Tony was a part of. Then found this thread. Huck was an incredible dog - i have some amazing photos of him and Tony, some incredible memories - I'll post some more photos for you. I'm really glad he had this forum - i know he was completely heartbroken when we lost Huck

Now the hard part, we lost Tony earlier this year to a sudden heart failure during a bike ride with my Dad and some other bike friends. he collapsed and was taken to hospital but 2 days later he passed away. We are forever heartbroken, Tony was one of the greatest humans i have ever met in my life and i miss him every day. I just wanted to let you know, after reading his posts on Huck it brought back so many memories - they're together now i guess but it really does suck especially for Emma.

Thanks for being there for Tony during the hard times he went through with Huck. Tony and Emma went on to rescue another 3 dogs. 2 Great Danes and a beautiful giant of a breed that escapes me.

Cheers - Matt

Matt,

Wow. The world got even smaller just now...

Thank you so much for finding us, and posting this sad news. I am so sorry for your and Emma's loss of Tony. He was the world's greatest dog dad, and it's so heartbreaking to know he passed away this year, way before his time. Yeah, sucks indeed even if he is with his beloved Huck.

The holidays are so rough when we go through all those "firsts" of coping without those we love. We think of them even more, and miss them twice as much. I hope finding Tony's posts brought you some comfort.

We would love it if you shared photos of him and Huck. The ones he posted in his previous threads back in 2015 are watermarked with the Photobucket photos sharing site logo because they were hosted on that site. If you have some pics you can post, I'll make sure they get in our gallery where they won't ever have that watermark on them. And we would love to celebrate Tony's life and the good times with Huck too.

This is how adding images works. You have to host them somewhere, then come back here and paste the image URL into the forum post. Let me know if you'd like help.

(((((hugs)))))

Oh Matt, so sorryto hear about Tony.  Such as great dog who, as Rene said,  had such a great Dad.  He knew how much you loved him and he loved being with you just as much.

While I'm sorry for the reason uou came back here, but I hope you find comfort  in knowing  we are always "family'and always here for you.  I have no doubt Huckleberry  was at the head of the line and the Rainbow  Bridge to greet Tony.  Had to be a joyous celebration  as they bragged about all the delightful times they had in their earth clothes with you.

Yes,I hope you can post more photos so we can celebrate  the joyous life Tony had with you.

Seeing Huckleberry  meeting your  beautiful daughter is just as sweet as can be.  She appears robe so gentle with him as he do3s with her. Huckle is such a handsome boy.

I hope you manage to see the last one, it’s one of my favourite but emotionally charged photos.

I met Tony through the mountain bike community many years ago. tomorrow 6 of us are travelling to Tasmania for a week to ride Tony’s favourite trails.

the little black dog is my boy Louie, he’s an Affenpinscher. He would have only been a few months old there. Here’s a pic of him now…

Matt these are sooo beautiful, thank you for taking time to share. To see Huck and Tony together, having such a happy day, really puts a smile on our faces. It's a bittersweet thought to know they are together again. They were both so vibrant and fun loving.

Emma's sweetness is too cute in the photos. And oh my gosh Louie! I want to kiss that adorable face!

I put a few of the photos in our gallery. Huck and Tony's spirit lives on.

Hope you have a good trip with the gang. What a way to remember a great guy who left this earth far too soon. I'm so sorry for your loss.
