Dotty (mini-schnauzer) is nearing her 12th birthday and her second anniversary after losing her right hind leg to cancer (no-one could agree about what kind of cancer it was, it was a toss-up between osteosarcoma and fibrosarcoma). She gets tired and sore if she does too much, but by the same token, she sulks if she misses out on beach or forest walks. When she realises that she's getting an off-lead walk she grins from ear to ear and does her little rocking horse run, ears flying and tail straight out behind her.

I have tried to post a photo here...not sure if it's worked.

Here are detailed instructions for adding photos to forum posts . If you do not already share photos online somewhere, you can start a free Tripawds blog and upload them there.

Be sure to focus on strengthening exercises and core conditioning. FYI: Walks don't build strength, only endurance. Find lots of professional tips about the amount and type of exercise recommended for Tripawds as well as many how-to lists and videos for exercise, stretching and massage in Loving Life On Three Legs , now available in the Tripawds e-books library.

Hope this helps!

Hi there! Thanks for the nudge, I have started a blog called "We Love Dotty", I've posted a few recent photos there so you can see Dot enjoying life.

I also needed a nudge to refocus on her strengthening needs, I'll blow up the peanut shaped fit ball for her and get her back up on it. Treats will play a big part in this process...!

Oh my gosh it's so neat to see her having a ball! Really neat to see where you guys went on vacation. Is all of New Zealand that pretty?
