Dear Tripawed Family,
Monte crossed rainbow bridge Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 3:41 pm. As we all know having to say goodbye to our family fur babies is never easy. The pictures below were the morning of, in which he looks perfectly well
Cancer is evil no matter what kind. Once it got to his lungs, he had a hard time moving his back legs and breathing was labored. I am very thankful for the days I was given to spend with Monte and help him fight. I once read that statistics are just that. Monte proved the comment to be true! I will never forget what a great family you all have been through our journey of OSA.

Elizabeth, my heart goes out to you!! Saying goodbye to Monte was certainly a heartbreaking thing to do, but know that you gave him the best chance at life and he will be eternally grateful to you! He will ALWAYS be there with you and i guarantee he will show himself in the most beautiful ways... always be watching for him!
The pictures that you have shared with us, certainly show that he is at peace with what you needed to do for him! He looks so very handsome and regal doesn’t he!! Everypawdy will be hailing King Monte at the 🌈 Bridge, you can be assured that they are throwing a huge Tripawd Pawty to welcome Monte!!!

I'm so sorry to read this. Monte has worked his way into all our hearts, and we all feel the loss of your handsome angel. He was not with us nearly long enough, and we are truly sorry.
The photos speak volumes, that boy was so loved! What a life you gave him, it was the kind of love that all dogs dream of and deserve. As much as it hurt you to set his spirit free, you allowed him to transition with his dignity while surrounded by all that mattered to him in this world. What a gift.
Elizabeth, if you want to keep sharing photos of Monte please do. Our gentle giant is an angel now, but always in our hearts.

(((((Elizabeth))))) Sending you a super tight hug, can you feel it? I am so sorry that Monte had to shed his earthly clothes. I have no doubt tho that he had an amazing welcoming committee up there. You are such an amazing pawrent Elizabeth, you and Monte touched my heart from day one. Thank you for sharing your pictures, I know that was hard to do.
Eurydice has a new super sized playmate, and Monte is in good hands. I am sure she made sure they found their XXL wings for your boy so that they could fly together, and she and all of our angels will show him the best time with a wild celebration. Your baby is whole now, and there is no pain. Seeing that look on Monte's face, I have no doubt in the world that he will look over you and his spirit will always be with you. Such a sweet, gentle giant.
Please know that you went above and beyond what most would do to ensure that Monte received the very best of care. Even after such a grueling recovery your Monte saw the flip side once he got well, and his quality of life was just fabulous. Both your and his determination to heal and recover to enjoy the rest of his life was enough to leave one speechless, and that determination will show that in the end, even the biggest most gentle giants can rock three legs. It was truly inspirational.

This news saddens me and it is with tears in my eyes I send you my sympathy. Monte was such a beauty and I followed his story from the beginning cheering that boy and you on. I know no words I can say will make you feel better, but truly he will be missed. Our world and especially your world Elizabeth was better with Monte in it. Fly free new Angel!

Thank you all for the sympathy replies and poemsTomorrow will be a month since my Monte has been gone. I continue to write in his journal and miss him so. However, I know he's no longer in pain and tried so hard to do his best for me. These past eight months have been so emotional that I didn't realize how much till Monte was gone. Everyday I was trying to be the strong human caretaker for him and keep his surroundings positive that when he was no longer here, I didn't know what to do. Needless to say, life has been a little empty feeling. A lot empty to be honest. I know Monte gave it his all and in his loving way he was saying he couldn't go onI am grateful you all were here for our support and cheering us on.

Hi Elizabeth, I'm so glad you came back to let us know how you're doing. A month gone by is a big deal, and not nearly enough time to feel less empty or find that new normal again.
No doubt you'll find your way in time, because Super Monte is watching over you, and he taught you how to see the big picture in life, how to make the most of each day even when your heart hurts and you feel lost. And that makes you Super Mom in so many ways.
If it will help you feel better, please write a tribute for him here or in Coping with Loss if that helps your heart. We would love to remember your handsome heroes and smile at all the good times you shared.

When I first read that Monte had to head to the Rainvow Bridge, I said I would come back and "post later" when I could get my thoughts, later when I could write mpre clearly when tears weren't falling. It was as though I could put my sadness on hold that way. Nah, didn't work.
Monte, magnificent Monte, had us all wrapped around his paw from day one.❤ A true magnificent Warrior, amd sooo handsome . I could look at photos of him all day and still be mesmerized by how uniquely handsome this gentle giant is.
Yes, the void after being such a loving care giver is ...I don't know...it f just feels "silent" and empty. We understand . And we also under stand it doesn't last forever. Eventually the empty space in your jeart and home will slowly fill with the thousands of wonderful memories you shared . And goodness knows, Monte is bragging at the Bridge about the GREAT time he had in his earth clothes with you! Just as you were privilege to share your life with him , he is feeling just as privilege to have you in his life.
PLEASE continue to share more about Monte with us and, of course, with pictures. We were all so touched by the courage of this amazing dog and the unbreakable bond he shared with you. He will ALWAYS be remembered here❤
