BEAUTIFUL! I'm totally in love with her, what a happy girl!
You all did your homework and made a decision that puts Allie's needs first. She is very lucky to have you as her people, and such a great medical team. I also hope you'll keep us updated on how she is doing. And remember, a prognosis is just a guess really. Dogs don't have expiration dates stamped on their butts no matter what the prognosis says! We have our paws crossed that she will go way beyond those numbers!!!

Hi to all. Just wanted to give an update on Allie. Initially, I'm not sure if I had mentioned it months ago, but her vet had given her 4 months to live, back in the July timeframe. We started her on some chemo treatments and she did great! She was a little less energetic than usual but she still loved to cuddle up, go for walks and even play a bit. In January, her cancer was coming back and we switched her to a new drug. She also went on higher dose of prednisone which made her a little more hot and thirsty, so she didn't want to snuggle for as long as she used to, but she was fighting hard.
Unfortunately, this Wednesday, Allie took a major turn for the worse and we had to make the gut wrenching but merciful decision to put her to sleep. I'm still a bit traumatized by the whole thing so I will post in some other areas, but I wanted to let everyone know she lived an amazing last few months with her family. I miss her every single day, and losing her has been the worst thing I've experienced. She changed my life for the better in so many ways and I am eternally grateful. Thanks to everyone here for helping support us during our difficult times. Hopefully I will not need to visit again but if I do, I know I'm in good hands. Cheers.
I'm so sorry about Allie, you have my deepest condolences. She was such a loved, sweet dog! That last photo just melts my heart.
The journey you took together was not an easy one. But you always put her needs first and made sure it was all about her quality of life. What a beautiful gift you gave her during these last few months, to let her enjoy her life and soak in every day with her favorite humans! She got her angel wings knowing that she had the best life any dog could ask for.
As your heart heals, I hope that memories of all the good times you shared bring you comfort. And if you want to talk more about her and celebrate her life, we are here for you. Thank you for taking time to let us know.
