I honestly can't believe its been 9 months since I was sitting here at work wondering if my sweet Sassy Sugar Bear was going to make it out of surgery & how she was going to do on 3 legs. Its amazing. She has done so well. We have had a few hicups on the way in this journey but who hasn't. Cancer isn't going to beat us.
So Sassy is doing great other than her slight wipeout in the yard trying to chase something she thought she saw. Blood work came back great, still in line with what it has been the past few months. That is great news. Still waiting on a urine culture to double check to make sure there is not any other problems going on besides the leftover results of the Cytoxin.
We started the Leukeran Aug 2nd, 2013. So far I don't see any different side affects on Sassy than what the Cytoxin had. Meaning I don't notice her tired (she sleeps a lot anyway lol) I guess I can say I do see one and I don't know if its more from the cancer or from coming off Cytoxin & going on Leukeran. Sassy seems to be hot more often & is now sleeping in the bathroom (one of the coldest rooms in the house) because of the tile floor. She is drinking ice water. Taking cool whip containers & freezing water for her.

If anyone can do this, Sassy can! Congratulations on 9 months, you beautiful TWP! You are so lucky to have such a pawesome human there catering to you and cutting your burgers into teen tiny bites and buying you turkeys and freezing ice water for you. You know that, don't you?
Michelle, I'm so happy for you. Please let us all help you plan a big blowout for November!

One of the biggest joys of your updates----and there are many-----is we get to see pics of that beautiful Sassy! And, I think this pic may even be a "first showing". Could a dog look more comfy and more relaxed?
If you haven't already hopped over to her vlog today, ya' need to do it! There's another "photo surprise".....pretty neat one!

Hoppy Hoppy Ampuversary Sassy! Way to go you two! Libby seems hotter than she used to be since on the Cytoxan, weird. She now prefers to lay on the tile under the kitchen table instead of the gazillion rugs we bought and laid all over the house.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Thank you everyone
Hugs

Keep kicking cancer's butt out of here!!!
We're having treats in your honor,
Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
Go Sassy!! Happy 9 month and going strong!
Luanne and Shooter
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Congrats to beautiful, wonderful Sassy! And congrats to her beautiful, wonderful mama!
