Hi Everyone!
My new mom read me the posts that you all wrote when she was here asking questions about living with a Tripawd. I want to tell you "Thanks A Lot" for encouraging her and telling her how cool us Tripawds are. Mom said I should come on here and tell you my story. I went over to her house on Saturday for my 1st home visit and so that my awesome foster mom Vicki could check the place out and make sure that mom was a good person and could take care of me. Vicki and I liked it so much that I got to stay! I have my very own home now with sisters that I really like a lot, my own goats to herd, some big ole horses that sniff me and lick me and even some chickens to chase! Oh, and today, I found out there are bunnies to chase, too! It's really fun here!
I was a little sad when Vicki went to take me out of the car when we arrived at mom's house because I figured it meant she was going to leave me and I'd already been left a few times before. You see, I started out in a place called Klamath Falls in Oregon. I was picked up and put in a car when I was lost and broken by some nice people. I was taken to this really super nice place (that smelled kind of funny) where a really neat man everyone calls Dr. Wilson was. The people who took me there felt sorry for me and asked Dr. Wilson to make me sleep (I think like sleep forever!). Dr. Wilson didn't think making me sleep forever was a good idea so he made me sleep a little while and took off my broken leg! I didn't really care because it was hurting really bad and I'd had that old thing draggin along for a couple of months. I don't remember how it got broken but once it got messed up, it never worked again so I didn't need it anymore.
Anyway, Dr. Wilson called this super nice lady called Shauna and asked her if she would take me to her house to get better and she said yes! Shauna gets help from some SUPER nice people at Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue who help pay for the medical supplies and help for furkids like me who are in trouble.
Shauna was so nice to me. She slept on the kitchen floor with me when I was hurting really bad. She helped me get used to my broken part being gone and made me feel really happy because she fed me good food and made my owies feel better. She gave me a soft bed and made me feel so special.
Once I was getting around better, Shauna called a nice man called a transporter (I think his name is Bob) who drove all the way down from a place called Seattle in Washington and drove me to another nice lady's house. Her name is Vicki and she's one of my very best friends. Vicki's house has lots of other dogs just like me! Vicki is super cool because she lets her dogs go herd sheep and do other really neat jobs that us Border Collies make look really easy but they really are super hard! Sheep are kind of silly, you know, so it's harder than it looks to make them go places they don't want to go! She also let me play in her hose. I REALLY like to play in the hose!
So, then Vicki put pictures of me up at a thing called a webpage. Mom said here is the address: http://www.pnwb.....elterId=WA
Mom had a really super good best buddy named Gadget. He got sick with something called cancer and he died. Mom was really sad but she said Gadget told her that he was going to send her another buddy that needed help. Mom said she didn't understant it very well but she even had a vision in her mind of the buddy that Gadget was going to send - Gadget showed her a vision of ME, 3 legs and all! Can you believe it? Mom says it sounds like she's crazy but when she saw me, she knew I I was the one! She wrote to the rescue people and Vicki and that's how I got my new beginning!
Here's me with my new sisters:
and this is what I do when Mom watches TV
Thanks for reading my story!

Oh thanks for sharing your story Pogo. You are awesome. I'm sorry you had to go through so much to get where you are but so happy you found a forever home. You are beautiful and look so happy with your new sisters.
Hugs to you and your angel of a mom.

Pogo, we love stories with happy endings like yours! Wow, you are a real survivor. What a lucky, lucky dawg you are to have found such beautiful people every step of the way.
When my Mom and Dad find some land somewhere, they want to foster dogs and help others like you. There are so many dogs in need of forever homes, my pawrents just cry thinknig about it. We want to help any way we can, but fostering to me sounds like the best because then I get lots of friends to play with!
Well, thank you for sharing your hoppy story. We are so glad you found a loving family, and hope that we get to meet you when we come to Washington in a couple of months. Till then, keep in touch!
Your friend,
Jerry

Oh my gosh! You are coming to Washington? Oh goodie! Where will you stay? We have a trailer that is pretty comfy if you need a place to sleep. You'll have so much fun and I can introduce you to all my buddies! We are pretty close to Seattle so it's a pretty good place to hang out and use as a launch pad to go other places. Mom says we are pretty close to lots of fun things.
Wow, I hope I get to meet you. You are my hero!
Slurps,
Pogi!
Pogo - you are too beautiful and so is your mom...I really should not check this website at work because i always end up crying, but I always wanna know what is going on with our incredible kids such as yourself!!! I'm glad my tears are happy tears today.
Much love and happiness to you Pogo and you newfound family.

Hey Pogo! Yeah, we will be there sometime in October. My Mom and Dad are going to check out towns outside of Spokane, then head to Twisp, then to see friends in Bellingham, then we start heading south to Oregon. Thank you for your generous hospitality offer! I can't wait to play with you too!

Hi Pogo
My name is Darcy and I've got 3 legs too!
I'm not sure what happened just now but one minute, my Mum was reading the start of your story and smiling and then the next minute, she went dashing off for a tissue so whilst she's gone (and by the way, I can hear her making some sniffing noises) I thought I'd take the opportunity to welcome you. It looks like you've settled into your forever home very well indeed.
Love, Darcy

Hey Darcy! Our pawrents are funny, aren't they? I don't know what the big deal is. I'm as fast as my sisters and I even dive into the brush chasing bunnies now. None of us ever hurt one but we like to remind them we rule the lawn and they rule the bushes, you know? Anyway, everyone I meet gets all silly about my legs but I just don't think it's that big of a deal!
Today, I went on truck rides with Mom and Noodle so we could go buy dirt. Mom has an extended cab truck so we all get to stay inside in the air conditioning! Mom is making a big flower bed between two big fir tress. She calls it an "island" but I don't get it... I thought Islands were in the ocean. Anyway, it was really fun because she took a trailer and got a HUGE pile of new dirt! The new dirt smells really good and even tastes kinda good. I ate a clod. Mom got all upset and said that was gross but I liked it. I rolled in it, too!
Wow, so there are some other Tripawds in WA. My mom says our house is like a dog park so we could have a get together here and play. We have a big deck for the people to sit on and all us furkids can play on the grass!
So I'll need to start to collect some names and dates. Jerry, you can totally stay here. Mom says that our travel trailer is really comfy but if you have your own trailer, there's tons of room to park it here. We have 5 acres so there's lots of room to have fun. We even have a creek we can walk to and play! And, if you like to eat horse poop, we have so much of that! I like to roll in it but mom kind of freaks out when I do that. Sheesh. I sneak a bite though, every chance I get!

Has anyone heard from Mary & Pogo lately? What a story poor Pogo had to live through with that broken leg and then the adventures he took before he found his forever home! I hope we hear from them again. And, Jerry, you'll be passing through Oregon in October? We live in Portland, so if there's anything we can do to help, just let us know!

Woof! Sorry we've been so quiet and away for so long. Mom's life got a little crazy and she got overwhelmed but she still always had time for me and my sisters.
We got sooooooooooooo lucky to meet Rene and Jim and Pam and Tazzie on Tuesday. It was so fun. We were sad that Jerry wasn't with us physically but we know he was watching from his place across the bridge.
Tazzie is the biggest dog I have ever seen. She is really cute but her bark scared me a little at first. After a bit, though, I realized that she was all bark and no bite! We played with the really cool toys that Jerry gave us. I showed everyone how I can run around and play tug of war. I even showed them how I can jump into the air!
So, now that I see there is a place for rescues, since I am a rescue, I'm going to keep my eye on that page and try to help people know that us Tripawds are GREAT fun and it's no big deal to us to be missing a leg. We get around just fine. If you know of a Tripawd that needs a home, be sure to post info on the rescue thread so that they can find nice Pawrents of their own.
Woof Woof!

Pogo - my Mum just said that she thinks she loves you. It's something to do with your face apparently. She says its very smiley and gorgeous.
(I don't mind if she loves you - she has plenty of love to go around).
