Thank you all for your support and spreading cheer into our lives.  Living 11 years with a 3-legged dog is and has not easy.

When I first saw the darling puppy with a crippled leg 11 years ago, I never knew the hardship that would come with it.   She was marked down to only $10 because she was snippy.  She came from a hoarder.  Luckily Child Protective Services found the 22 dogs neglected.

I reached down to pick her up the first time and she let me and gave me a big kiss!  I just held her and from that moment on, she and I made a serious connection.   I knew I shouldn't save her because I had 3 big dogs.  But I couldn't get her out of my heart and actually waited a few days to get her. It was a horrible mistake.   One of my big dogs continually attacked her several times in the first two years. She and I had many stitches during that time.  I vowed I would never let anything hurt her again.  Therefore,  I have lived my life protecting her and she knows it and that's why she and I have strange bond.  It's not been easy having an anti-social dog, let alone the physical inabilities she has but she needs me.

Anyway, thank you everyone for letting us into your little world.

Awwww, what a sweet story, thank you for sharing it with us. A bond like the one you have with Comet is rare, and so special. Thank Dog there are people like you in this world who can see beyond snippiness and the challenges that can happen when another dog joins the pack.

Hope you all have a great howliday and a beautiful 2010. Thank you so much for your support and being a part of our lives.

Many, many hugs,

Rene, Jim, Wyatt Ray & Spirit Jerry

Ge'Lena, George, Comet, Rocket, and Angle Spirit Rugby,

Your Comet was lucky to find you and despite the hardships I think you were lucky to find her too.  It sounds like it was a rough start though!  I'm glad you didn't give up on her and her new siblings.

Merry Christmas.

Oh, how sweet of you guys!  Thanks so much for the well wishes.

I hope everyone managed to have a bright and happy holiday!

My mom came in from Oklahoma and that really helped change the mood (for the good!).
