I already posted Opie's name story, but when I read about the reason Jerry was named Jerry made me remember a story about my uncle and his beautiful collie.  My cousin named the dog.  This dog was an escape artist, finding his way out to roam the neighborhood multiple times when he was a pup.  My uncle would get in his car and look for the dog.  One hot, summer night at about 2 in the morning, my uncle found himself driving every so slowly down the street yelling, "Here Babe.  Here Babe.  Aw c'mon Babe!" He could only imagine what the neighbors thought.

Gwen - My husband grew up in Stickney SD and now his brother lives in Mitchell and his mother in Armor so that is where we spend most of our time when we go back to visit.  We will be back there this Summer.  After visiting SD the first 2 times in Winter I now refuse to go in Winter and will only visit in Summer!!!  I have never done the Sturgis rally but my husband hopes to one day ride in it.  We are never there that time of year though.  I have been pheasant hunting once (my second visit as we were there in Winter), absolutley loved it and wish I could do it again but don't want to go back in winter so might have to imagine going pheasant hunting!!!!

Our last dog (family dog when I still lived at home) walked into our yard (a lot of dogs walked into our yard, but mum would have to take them to the animal aid as we could never keep them, no front fence etc), and I think dad fell in love with her so we kept her and called her "Girl".  After a while it didn't sound as obvious when you called her, it was just like any other name.

What's all this I hear about an Anti Monkeybutt Task Force? If that is the group's official name.

Holly was born on December 20th, so we needed a Christmas name and decided on Holly. She's called Holly, Holly Jolly, Holly Jolly the Christmas puppy, Puppynog (kind of like eggnog - 'tis the season!), Puppygirl, baby gund, and Holly Joseph. I'm sure there are other names, but those are the ones that come immediately to mind.

When I was 8, my family got a golden named Christina of Clearview Street (that's where we lived). My mom sent out birth announcements to all of her siblings - which made everyone laugh! Her sister and brother-in-law rescued a dog from the garbage dumps at the same time and he was called Duke. He immediately he became Duke of the Dumps so his name compared to his cousin's! Christy had so many names that my friends thought that she'd respond no matter what we called her, which was possibly true! Other dogs were ones we had for their first year for the Guide Dog Foundation on Long Island - Ben (also Benny totes), Tinker (we called him TinkCurtis for some reason), Stella (also Stella Queet), and Panda. All were great dogs, although Tinker and Panda were a little strange.

What a fun forum - it's great to remember all those wonderful dogs and the many names we had for them!

Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Hey Killbarney,

Yeah, it's just the name of a new band I'm starting.  No biggy.  I can't say anymore than that since it's sorta a secret.  But Opie, Myia and Holly are so far my only members.   Wartless Wyatt can join, too but I'd need to talk to him in private about it.

So, if you hear anything ON THE FORUMS like, 'Operation Monkeybutt', that's just the name of the 1st album cover.  I can't say anymore than that right now.

OKAY??????  Winker

Exactly! Clown So let me get this straight... is it the AMTF (Anti-Monkeybutt Task Force) or AMBF (Anti Monkey Butt Force)? The former makes more sense to me. Something about a Butt Force just doesn't sound right, though maybe the Force is strong in Rocket's butt.

I just gots to know! Me haves me reasons.

Killbarney,

YOU CANNOT JOIN!  You couldn't even play the tambourine!

Anti MonkeyButt Force is the name.   It's an inspired name from the Impossible Mission Force (IMF)!

Don't you think I look like Cinnamon Carter - the beautiful actress and model turned IMF agent!?

I'm thinking about adding some horns so I can add a bunch of members.

CCC - out
