Wow! It's hard to believe we are so lucky that today I am able to post that we are celebrating 17 months with our girl. Tasha's back problems had gone away but have come back so she is continuing taking Rimadyl. I have been able to lower her dose to one pill a day and hoping she will be able to eventually stop needing the meds all together, I guess time will tell.
Tasha continues to love life, she is funny, happy, loving her life. Living life on 3 legs hasn't slowed her down. She is one heck of a spoiled dog, her woof is our demand! During all these months our bond has become unbelievablyclose. It's scary to think that at one time so many months ago we even questioned if we should do the amputation.
Today will celebrate with Tasha the miracle that we have been given, and just simply continue to treasure each and every moment that we share together.
Treats for everyone, help celebrate with Tasha!

Wow - 17 months. That's great! Congratulations.
Technically, Abby's 4 month ampuversary would have been Feb. 29, so I guess it's really today. We are doing the same - enjoying every moment. Big virtual hugs to Tasha, along w/ kisses from Abby.
Jackie & Abby
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Tasha you Rock! Hope the back problems stay away with the help of a little Rimadyl. We have to keep these girls moving! I'm still watching for you to go past me on I-10 in that big truck you ride in.
Have a wonderful celebration. 17 months really is a BIG DEAL
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Congratulations Tasha!! Each day is certainly a gift and you've been giving the very best gifts to your mom and dad! You are one extra special pup and I know you're gonna be spoiled rotten today (like every day)
Hugs and sloppy kisses,
Lisa, Ranger, Spirit Sadie and Monkeydawg Athena
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Well, well, well! Golly gee! Hoppy 17 month Ampuversary Tasha! SO happy to hear your back is better and all is well again! Your mom has sure had it rough, so she could use some really good news! So, let's celebrate!
I hope your brother is doing well now, too!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Congratulations Tasha, you beautiful girl!
17 months is something that doesn't even seem possible when you're at the beginning of this journey, does it? It's so nice to be able to share success stories like yours with the folks who are just getting started or who are unsure how to proceed.
Wishing you many, many more ampuversaries!!
Michelle
Oh I am so so happy to read this wonderful news - 17 months!!! Wow!!! This really is such awesome news!! Tasha, you are definitely our hero and a true inspiration to all of us here. We know your mom has been through a rough time so we're just so glad that you have been a bright star for her.
Here's wishing to many, many more ampuversaries and celebrations!! Whooooooo Hooooooooo!!!!!
Kami, Angel Mackenzie and Kobe
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
