Trouble woke up yesterday morning coughing. They think she has a bronchial infection. We had her kenneled Monday night, may be a bug she picked up. Gave her some anitbiotics and cough medicaiton and she's feeling better. I'm on an overnight trip and can't wait to get home to check on her. I know Bob is capable of taking care of her, but she's MY baby.
Thank you.... just needed to vent 🙂

Poor baby... I can understand why you were worried... I start to panick when Jake starts to pant too much!
Thankfully, Trouble just picked up a little bug from being kenneled... Glad to hear that she's already feeling better... Hope she continues to do better...

Yikes. Everything is so scary. When they have anything happen to them out of the ordinary it is hard for us not to fear the worse. I am glad that she just picked up a bug.

Shanna, Bob, & Trouble,
Personally, I do not consider this venting but rather sharing some of the anxieties that we all have. Scared, I get scared whenever Cherry decides that this is one of those days she does not want to eat, this is one of the days when she has loose stool bordering on diarrhea, this is one of the days that she vomits, and this is one of the days that she coughs or pants excessively. But as you can clearly see, I have everything under complete control and am totally calm regardless of the situation. (NOT) Shanna, you and Trouble have been one of our stalwarts during Cherry's darkest times and for that we will always be greatful.
We have not forgotten that there are five of us who will be celebrating our One Year Ampuversary soon. Trouble will just have to hang in for that big one and for a number of others that we five will celebrate together. I am worried however that we have not heard from Nova for a very long time. The last posting on their personal blog is July 26th.
Please update when you get home.

Somebody's in for some serious spoiling, isn't she?

I understand completely - I would freak out if I woke up to hear Tazzie coughing. I think I might have heard one small cough the other day (probably when his throat was pushed against the couch watching people pass by outside) and that was enough to make the mind go into fast forward.
Glad that Trouble is okay.
Hey Trouble, how are you doing?
We're thinking of you, let us know OK?

Glad to hear that Trouble just picked up a bug. I know Maddie coughed the other day and I got really worried automatically thinking something was really wrong. They're our babies, worrying about them is just what we do:) I'm suppose to go to Georgia to visit our daughter November 10th - 15th and I'm really worried about it because just like you said, I know that Brad will take good care of her but she is my baby girl.
Sorry for not posting, I've just not felt up to reading the forum. Fear makes folks behave really weird!
Trouble did better until Saturday, but started to cough more frequently again. Sunday night I was sitting up with her in the wee hours of the morning petting her as she coughed and hacked. I was going to take her to the vet on Monday but decided to up her meds and give her a little more time. I did call the vet to ask about an x-ray. He assured me these bugs can last a while and be hard to shake, but would do the x-ray if it would make me feel better. I restrained myself and waited one more day. Called Tuesday morning to see if I could get her meds changed, they just weren't working that great. He had me start her on Robitussin DM - 1T 3x day. You would not believe the difference a little cough syrup made. Tuesday night I gave her a dose and she slept soundly all through the night AND woke up Wednesday without a cough. I've still had to give her an occasional dose of the meds and a 1/2 dose of the Robitussin, but she is MUCH better now.
Thank you all for your concern. We know we are cared for here.
Bob - thank you so much for the kind words. I am always in awe to knoe we touched someone's life. It is always amazing to me and very humbling to know we helped someone on their journey. If I help one person as they struggle with this dread disease, I have been blessed.
I've been thinking a lot about Nova also, hope all is well with her.

I'm so glad that the robitussin finally helped with that annoying (and scary) coughing... Now maybe you can relax a little... and concentrate on having some fun with Trouble...
Sending good thoughts your way!!
