Hi all!
We've had a hectic summer and I haven't been around here too much but I wanted to at least recognize a couple of milestones.
August 5th was Elly's one year ampuversary! She had been part of our little pack for 10 months now and has come a long way since she first joined us. She is still skittish and wary, but has made great progress thanks to lots of time spent on training and lots and lots of patience. We have now taken 4 classes which have helped, and we work most every day on getting comfortable with her some of her triggers like plastic bags, loud noises, and going under things.
July 11th was Obie's 6 year 'gotcha' day, and July 15th was his 10th birthday! Obie has attached himself to my dad (we live together now) and is pretty much always by his side. It's hard to believe he has been with us so long, he joined the pack just 5 weeks after Tri-Pug Maggie crossed the bridge.
I've been dealing with family illnesses, the local Shakespeare Festival and a bad right wrist. I'll be done with Shakes after Monday, and I'm hoping family members are on the mend so I should be around more starting next week. As for the wrist...it's now in a cast!
Tri-pug Maggie survived a 4.5 year mast cell cancer battle only to be lost to oral melanoma.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Hoppy 1 Year Ampuversary Elly! 
Cassie is almost 12 and she's still afraid of loud noises. She even knows that when we get a package of Ramen noodles out of the pantry, that we are going to bang on them to break them apart, so she will get herself up as soon as she hears the plastic & walk down the hallway to the bedroom. 
She used to crawl under the bed to hide, which at 65 lbs was never easy to do! lol But now that she's getting older, that's getting harder to do, so she just goes to the bedroom and lays down.

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

Yes Sally, that is Mr. Bill! That actually is THE Mr. Bill that came with Obie from his foster mom so it is at least 6 years old. Obie has torn up several other identical toys, but the original is his baby. He has to have it before he will go to sleep- he falls asleep with it in his mouth
That picture is from nap time a few weeks ago. Dad spent a few days in the hospital so Obie had to sleep with me and Elly. He would not settle down until I got MB from Dad's room. We have to be very careful to keep MB out of the reach of Elly- I forgot one afternoon and came back to my room and she had de-stuffed his belly!

Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years!
