Today was the day that has been marked on my calendar for Chance's 1 year Ampuversary! I was so looking forward to this day so I could post in celebration about how great he was doing. I just knew that he was going to sail past this day and keep looking forward. Unfortunately, it is a tearful post because, he missed it by exactly 1 month. Today I mourn because he has been gone for a whole month. It is getting easier each day because my life is so full and hectic right now. But there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think "I wish Chance could be here for this." I am going through so many emotions right now, being 4 months pregnant, I feel like I am on a constant roller coaster. But today is not going to be a sad day! We are still going to celebrate because by George, he fought that awful disease with everything that he had and even though he was 1 month shy of making it to a year. He made it as far as he could go, and then he just gave out. Today is a happy day so Happy 1 year Ampuversary Chance!!
Chance is a 10ish Shetland Sheepdog Mix who was rescued from the shelter in January of 2013 and diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in September of 2013. He had a front left amputation and 6 rounds of carboplatin. He had a great 11 months and was diagnosed with lung mets on 8/23/14. He was released to the bridge on 8/28/14.
YOU DARN RIGHT WE ARE CELEBRATING!!!!!!! One month shy counts as a full year in tripawd Universe!!!!!
You earned this celebration Chance and you shall not be denied!!!!!!!!!!!! By George, we've got a ONE YEAR AMPUVERSARY to celebrate!!!
We're having a pawty down here and I know the Bridge is rockin'!
HAPPY ONENYEAR AMPUVERSARY SWEET CHANCE!!!! That is a huge milestone and you made it kiddo!!!!!
And Chance n is here Taylor....his energy is all around you and, as the grief becomes less intense...ever so slowly....you will feel his presence more and more.
Okay, I'll be right back.....I think Merry Myrtle is making a card for Chance's celebration!!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Happy 1 year Ampuversary Chance!!!!!
I have no doubt there's all sorts of good things going on over at the Bridge to celebrate this achievement! There's running, playing, swimming, and all sort of good things to eat (steak, chicken, maybe some BBQ pork chops, and lets not forget tons of ICE CREAM).
Even though physically Chance is no longer here I know in spirit he surrounds you and your family. He fought a good fight and lived everyday on earth to the fullest.
Congrats Chance!

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Oh Yeah!! Pawty at the bridge! Balls, shoes, cake and ice cream! These "versaries" are sometimes tough. I have not really hit any yet, as Ty only lived 72 days after his amp. Just the afterversaries. We will soon be at 6 months. I just know our boys are up there running around and having fun. Keep looking, he is still with you, not physically, but if you look and listen, you will feel his presence in your heart. Don't get me wrong, I am not at all making light of this, there is not a day goes by that I don't wish I could hug Ty's big ole neck one more time. I just have to settle for feeling his tail wag in my heart for now. hugs from, Lori and Ty
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
Yes, I completely agree with everything Sally said, we WILL celebrate the one year ampuversary for Chance, he and you deserve it, and that Bridge will be rockin' with all kinds of treats and fun.....!!
The one thing I do believe in, is that Chance will always be by your side.....like Sally said, you will feel his presence more and more as your intense grief subsides.....and that grief seems never-ending, but it WILL ease as time goes by......what would be my precious Polly's 1 year ampuversary will be in another week so I do know what you are feeling......
Keeping you in my thoughts....
