Trouble's journey continues as we embrace the 27th ampuversary. How very far we have come. How very fortunate we are.
I often wonder why we have been blessed with so much time, and now I think I know. Her journey is one of hope and guidance for the ones who will follow. Her journey is to remind all that statistics are only numbers, that some will fall below and some will rise above.
Her journey has truly taught me to live one day at a time, to be thankful for what we are given. To acknowledge our blessings. The first lesson was by far the hardest for me, a human, to learn. We were well into the one year mark before I could relax and take what the day brought and to deal with it whether it was good or bad. The second lesson was an easy one, for who could not look at that beautiful little face and not be thankful to have one more day with her. Acknowledging my blessings is an ongoing process. Sometimes humans aren't aware of how truly blessed we are. But for today, I wish to acknowledge the blessings of the many friends I've found along the way at Tripawds. I remain email friends with some who were here in the beginning, but faded away after their fur kids went to the Rainbow, and I have wonderful ongoing friendships that check on me frequently, and I know there is always someone on the forum if I need an instant boost.
Trouble began her Adequan injections yesterday. We are optimistic it will bring her creeking old joints relief. I haven't decided on a great treat to celebrate, but I think there is one special biscuit left from a gift Fortis sent. That would be an appropriate treat as we celebrate our many friends along this journey.

.... and speaking of ongoing frienships - Trouble received this email for her ampuversary celebration...
Email from Spirit Cherry to Trouble
Trouble,
Happy 27 Month Ampuversary! WOW! That's like 2¼ years. What a great milestone! You and Nova are leading the way by example of how to kick that nasty cancer and enjoy life. We know just how hard you, and your Mom and Dad have worked to reach this milestone, but this hard work is paying off. Realizing that there are many ups and downs in this journey, we are so very glad that you are there to experience each and every one of these days. We are here to celebrate your good days and support you on your down days. My Mom and Dad will be celebrating with Green Beans and Ice Cream on your day - also their first day on Maui for this trip. So, Extra Hugs, Extra Wagon Rides around the perimeter, Extra Treats, and both Green Beans and Ice Cream. You deserve each and every one.
I am very busy here trying to help Dad with Chloe and her separation anxiety. Allie is also trying to help Kara settle. Kara is all puppy now and is wearing out Allie. Max is trying to help settle Bernie Bin Laden into a controlled tornado of energy. It is really wearing out Max, but there is still hope! Of course, Jerry has been at this for quite a while with Wyatt Rae, but that too is taking a lot of Jerry's energy. So while we, and so many more of the tripawds, will be here to greet you when that time comes, we are very busy now and think that you should continue to say with your Mom and Dad (and Duke) for another two or three years.
Wishing you many more ampuversaries,
Spirit Cherry
