Once again, I find it hard to make this announcement with all the heartache we've had in our group the last week, but we must give hope to the new ones coming along.
Today is Trouble's 19 month ampuversary! When we started this journey, this day was not even in my wildest imagination. Goes to show we truly do not know what is ahead for us. Trouble has had a couple of major scares since her last ampuversary, but I think we are on the mend now. The surgery site from the Lipoma removal is starting to grow hair fuzz, Yea! and she is recovering nicely from her immobility episode on Monday. It has been an emotional month for me, I think she's just making sure I stay on my toes.
Trouble has been blessed so far to not have any metastisis. Dr F is more concerned at this point with her age, weight, arthritis combo than with cancer.
She has been on the home cooked reducing diet for 9 days now. It has improved her coat, and I think I'm beginning to see a little trimming. I need to get out a tape measure and keep track since I can't weigh her every week. The dicalcium phosphate I ordered arrived on Wednesday, so she is now getting the exact diet prescribed.
I've had dogs all my life and I've loved them all, but this is my heart dog. I never knew you could become so completely taken over by a furry soul. Fight hard my sweetheart, you are a wonderful ambassador for tripawds everywhere!
Oh, and we will celebrate with 'GREEN BEANS'!
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Shanna & Trouble,
YEA!!! I think that Dad is a little speachless with joy at this wonderful news. To me, I would like hope and say that this is just a "good" start to just how many more ampuversaries that you will be able to celebrate. I find that such great news announcements like this are even more important after all the heartache that this community has undergone this last month.
So, we will expect more hugs, more playtime, special treats, ICE CREAM and now we will be adding Green Beans to our ampuversary day celebrations. Dad is anxious to get back home to see how our Green Bean plants are doing. It is definately one of his favorite vegtables, especially when one can pick them from the garden just before preparing.
Keep on leading the way and being an ispawration for all newbies.
Spirit Cherry
Bob, how appropriate you would be the first to respond – I never make an ampuversary post without thinking of the spirit hero's Cherry, Max, and Tika and the other remaining November (2008) Five member, Queen Nova. I am honored that you are so eager to share in Trouble's accomplishment.

I'm okay with celebrating your victory with green beans but would it be okay if I made Green Bean Cookies? I loves my cookies! I can call them Trouble Bean Cookies!
Girlfriends don't tell girlfriends they are fat, so I'm not going to say that BUT can you try to lose the weight so you and I can celebrate our birthdays in September with ice cream???

Happy 19 Month Ampuversary Trouble!! Wow - you are a rock star for sure!! And most definitely you make a wonderful ambassador too! Tell your mom that we are so happy to hear such great news. It couldn't come at a better time. Here's to many, many more happy ampuversaries and green beans!
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Shana & Trouble:
Hip Hip Hooray! That is wonderful news; 19 months, WOW! I will retract the comment I made yesterday about Rusty's prognosis; this news improves my morale immensely.
Chuck & Rusty
Rusty is a Labradoodle who was diagnosed with level 3 Fibrosarcoma on January 16th, 2010 and had his left hind leg amputated on January 25th, 2010 five days before his 18 month birthday. Please see Rusty's blog @rusty.tripawds.com. He is putting up one heck of a fight against this terrible disease.

My day is complete. We (Trouble) have given one survivor hope. That's what it is all about.

Trouble, you are such an inspawration here. Whenever things get sad and we feel down, all we need to do is think of you and the amazing odds you've beaten, to put smiles on our faces. Congratulations on this very remarkable, special and beautiful accomplishment! We love you sweet girl!
