And Trouble's 23rd ampuversary. Wow, what to say that hasn't been said already. I never thought we would be where we are. We are humbled to be one of the ones who defy statistics, and so blessed to have had this extra time to share. This isn't a journey we wanted to take, but it is a journey that has brought us unexpected blessings. We never would have found the Tripawd family. We never would have found the most wonderful vet ever. We never would have learned to enjoy the simple things - the small accomplishments as she learned to adapt, the joy of seeing that sweet little face each morning.
It is a journey I wouldn't wish on anyone. It is a journey that will end, we just don't know when or as a result of what. It is a journey that makes apprehension a part of life. I look every day for signs that something is not right, and of course rejoyce when I find nothing! We have learned there is no date stamp on her butt. She has the number of days she has and no one knows what that number is.
She isn't as spry as she was when the journey began, but then again she is 12 years old, and even without the OS, her body would be slowing down and showing signs of age. This week I resigned myself to give her a minimal dosage of Rimadyl on an ongoing basis. It may have an adverse effect on her liver, but it will bring a better quality to her daily life. She's doing ok for an old girl and I'm going to do what I can to keep her feeling good for however long she has left. (Bob says five years! - That would make her a REALLY old dog.)
So celebrate today, our tripawd friends. Let Trouble's long journey be your inspiration. As I celebrate for one, I acknowledge our hero's who have crossed the bridge. I am well aware there but for the grace of God, go I.
Hugs & Slurpies to all our wonderful Tripawd friends. We wouldn't have made it this far without your love and support.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Jo Ann & Tasha
Tasha 8 years old, First cancer diagnosis 6/26/09, Last cancer diagnosis 9/26/09, Amputation 10/01/09, Loving our girl moment by moment.
Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….
Shanna and Trouble,
Just last night, I had the privilege of "chatting" with Jim, Rene, and Sue. I told her just how please all of us here are to see the success that you and Queen Nova are having. Your journey has been tough but it is truly inspawrational to all who are just now starting their journey. There was a reason why we had green beans from the garden tonight and I now know exactly why. I hope that you do not mind that we will be living your victories vicariously and will be looking forward to the two year ampuversary celebrations for the Queen and Trouble. Do not think for one moment that we feel anything but as lucky as you do just now for Cherry's condition was so very poor and we made it for over a year. Nothing would please us more than to have your five more years with Trouble come true. I really love such optimism.
We will also be celebrating with Ice Cream tonight and are looking forward to that Two Year Ampuversary Celebration Pawrty.
Hugs to all for this wonderful news.

Lisa & Sadie
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Love Never Ends
Every month that you post a new ampuversary it puts a huge smile on my face:)! I think I would be pinching myself and wondering if this was really a dream....23 months!!!! So amazing! Trouble, you are a true inspiration and we are so happy that we get to celebrate so many ampuversaries with you. Here's to you and many many more ampuversaries and celebrations!!!!!
Kami, Mackenzie.& Kobe.
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
As Billy Joel sang, only the good die young, and with a name like Trouble you must have a real rascal on your hands!!!! How great to be able to say you beat the odds, and it proves not every one of our buddies is short lived because of that crap.Congratulations, Big Paws up, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Shanna,
That was SO well said! Congrats for Trouble's 23rd, amazing, amazing. We will rejoice for you today!
