Today is my one month ampuversary and I am having a really good day....
First, I got to have a poached egg on dog food... I would have preferred toast & sausage - but my mom said it would make me fat.
Then I got a BATH!!!! It was my first one since my surgery and dang, it sure felt good.....I used to have baths outside with the water hose but now that I only have 3 legs - I got to have it in the house with warm water.....My mom sang me this really corney song "rub a dub - you smell like a queen" and then she dried my coat with a hair dryer......
After that, we got to go for a walk down the hill - I had so much fun but when we had to come back up the hill - I got kinda tired, so I had to rest a minute.....I laid down in the mud and it felt really good on my nice clean tummy......Now my mom says I smell like fish.
Now I am going to take a nap - I've had a busy day so far and I gotta rest up for my ampuversary dessert later tonight....
Happy 1 month Riley! Boy if that first month seemed like forever getting there , join the crowd. I remember waiting for my 1 month and it was forever, but you wait every month after that just seems to go quicker and quicker! Hope you get an extra special dessert tonight!

What better way to celebrate your first post-op bath, than a good roll in the mud!? 🙂

Awww! There's a big smile! You bring us lots of smiles, too!
Smiley Riley, a 1 month celebration is terrific! Good job! We are going to have lots of monkeydog treats to celebrate but I won't tell the monkeyboys why! They'll make a snide comment about you smelling like fish!
Keep it up!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
A spaw day and a mud bath, no better way to celebrate for a girldog Tripawd!
Yipee! Hoppy Ampuversary Riley. Love that pic 🙂

Congratulations dear Riley! My pack wishes you many, many more of these! Mud baths after soapy baths are a tradition in my family, too. Your mom paid you a really pawsome compliment, too, telling you that you smell like a fish! Do you smell like an old, dead fish? Your mom really loves you to say that!
Love, D.

Wanna know what Tripawds smell like? ..........................................................Riley, better known as Smelly Fish Riley!
Bwahahahahaahaaa pooey, you stink hahahahahaha!
(Can't hide anything from mom!!)
Okay fine. Thanks for the extra treats Smelly Riley.
There. I was nice.
Congrats Riley, one month is a big deal here, and treats are well deserved for what the last 4 weeks have done to moms stress level. Oh, by the way, that fish smell is probably one of those stinkin' monkeydogs, you might start having problems with them now, but don't worry, the A.M.B.F. will be right by your side, noseplugs included, Paws up, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
