Tika here. I just wanted to say hello to everybody and thank you for giving my momma a shoulder to cry on when I had a bad moment.
Momma read all your comments to me and I think I understood them! I do understand that it means you are all wonderful, wonderful peoples and pups and I'm proud to be a member of your pack. You always make momma feel better, so you are on top of my list.
Right now, I want to let you know, I feel pretty darn good, I chased a squirrel, ALMOST got a mouse before that little bugger hid and been giving my family all sorts of trouble (in a fun way). Mom and Dad keep talking about my lungs (what are those?) and my cough, (I do know what that is…it's when I go he..hee.heee.haa…haa….hack…HACK! and I usually spit a little phlegm on mom's foot and she says ewwwww!)
I do get tired now, my back leg feels a bit heavier than it used to, but I don't care, I'm too happy to care. Plus, I have to take care of Momma, she just stares a lot at this crazy glowing metal thing on her lap a lot. It doesn't smell fun at all, that's why I take my paw and try to hit something called CTRL+ALT+DEL, still can't find that key on it.
Momma has been writing about my rotten sister and I here: http://www.tika.....ogspot.com Jerry gave great information about how to import it to Tripawds, but mom says Jerry underestimates her ability to be lazy about computer things. (Mom's defense: she does this same thing at work)
Good luck to everybody, I send out my patented Tika chest thump out to all of you! THANK YOU!
Mom's trying to embarrass me with my famous 'Boudoir' shot……ooo, look at that, what's that extra leg doing there?
Big loves to all!

Yoda here - Tika I found a dead mouse on my walk today! But Mom was too sharp for once and wouldn't let me snarf it up. Too bad. Rodents are tasty. I once caught one while on leash on a walk. It was night time so all Mom knew was that all of a sudden I chomped and there was a loud SQUEAK! and then I swallowed.
I also sometimes go rodent hunting at our closest dog park. There are these open fields in the middle. While I'm hunting though, Mom gets barked at sometimes because the other dogs at the park think she forgot to bring a dog with her. But she likes to watch and see me pounce every now and then. I don't tend to catch any rodents when I hunt at the park, but I do find between three and five tennis balls in the process. Mom never has to bring her own. Our opinions on which kinds of tennis balls are best are completely opposite though. I like the broken, soggy ones, but she won't throw those for me, just hides them in her bag or tosses them in the garbage. Humans are so lame sometimes.
I actually like the way my Mom's glowing metal thing smells. Sometimes I'll lick the top corner and then start to put my teeth on it, but when Mom goes "Eh-eh!" - it's not worth it.
Good to hear from you! In response to your "ROOOOOO-ROOOWOOOOR," I spread my yoda-ears and cock my head with interest.
Yoda&Mom united: 9/5/06 …….… Yoda&Leg separated: 6/5/09……… Yoda&Leg reunited: 10/14/09 ……… ……………….………….………….……. Yoda&Mom NEVER separated! …………………….….……....….…… Though Spirit Yoda currently free-lances as a rabbit hunting instructor for tripawds nationwide
Yep, It is sure nice to hear that both Tika and Yoda are back into the stream of things. We can all breathe a big sigh of relief. Unless you happen to be a small rodent.
I sure have been missing some of the wise veterans - Cherry, Genie, Zeus and Cemil to name just a few.
At least Jack came Back in style today! No little Jack, you do not count as a 'wise veteran' anymore than I do, but we're always happy to hear what you have been up to.
Life as a tripawd is currently good. Did you see the video on Jake's blog today? Amazing and incredibly touching, even though it featured humans.

Tika, you found your leg!
Hey girl, come on back to Colorado and we'll have a feast. I've got rabbits and squirrels and deer in my yard, and there's way too many to chase all by myself.
Glad to hear you're keepin' on my friend. You keep surprising us, and we love you for it.
Keep making your Mom, and us, smile.

Hey! I didn't know dogs can grow their legs back! Caira wants to know if it's like lizards and their tails....she grew up in the desert and loves little lizards. I would say the best, but that's not true. She likes whatever moves or jumps when she pounces! One time we lost her in AZ to a jackrabbit!
Tika, I'm so glad you are up to some good ole fashioned dog shenanigans! You go be ornery!
May 2001-Jan 21, 2010.....I'm a dog and I'm AWESOME!..... Always.
Obviously earlier? Couldn't do math...(thanks Jerry! )
Anyway, Tazzie: Extra leg: Kickstand!
Tika still almost 10 months later tries to use her missing leg, much to the amusement of all who observe and Tika herself.
Cairasue? The only reptile Tika encounter was a 4 ft long garter snake who just had breakfast. She disposed of it and was angry because it didn't taste like rabbit or mole or squirrel (back when she was making boudoir photos and had all legs), I was freaking out because I now had a fat, dead reptile that I had to dispose of.
By the way, anything with scales at least in the midwest, harbor major amounts of salmonella, do not let doggies eat them.
EWWWWWW. Yuck. Nasty. Still have bad memories.
Better get Caya in, she's having an argument with a thunderstorm....and losing. (Jerry, is lil' bro Wyatt doing that? Boom. Bark. Boom. Bark.)

Hi Tika!

Good to hear you're doing fine.
Please take your time coming to us, it's still fun with Jerry and Zeus and all the others up here... we don't need you for company jet!!!

Ewwww! Caira has never actually eaten a snake or a lizard. Little lizards move into the rocks too fast. Thankfully, I've realized the snakes were there just as she was trying to grab them up! Her look is always amazing. I'm pretty sure each time she's come across one on a hike, she has thought it was a stick-then jumped back in amazement when her stick moved! Thankfully, the snakes have been a few years in the past. We rarely hike in the desert anymore!
I don't think I would like to have to remove a snake from my domicile. My sister has cats who drag in forest mice through the doggie door so they can eat them in comfort in front of the wood stove! Yuck! One day when I was visiting, there was a whole family of dead mice laid out for a feast! GROSS!

Tika,
My dad was looking at that darn computer thing and laughing and crying like he does a lot lately and then i saw your picture! Now I know why daddy states at this thing so much! ROW-ROOOOOOOOOOOOO! I wish I had a doggie friend like you! We could chase squirrels together and all kinds of other crawly and smelly things and cause trouble all around the house - dad would love it!
ROOOOOOOOO-RROOOOOOOWWWOOOOOOOORRR ... INDEED!

This is a wonderful and happy thread. Yea Tika, so glad you are feeling better.
I do kinda feel sorry for any little rodents that cross a certain paith. Yikes!

You are pretty funny for a bat!
And who knew Jerry had such talent?! Is there malamute buried deep within? (note to Gerry: don't be surprised if Dakota cries or whines more than many dogs. A few vets have told me how vocal malamutes are just by being at the clinic, not always as a sign of pain.)
