Mom almost forgot! Besides being Mothers Day, today is exactly three months since I went to sleep and woke up with only three legs. Wow, it went by fast. And yes, it's been a roller coaster ride. Not one of those cute fun ones, but more like one of those that you get off of feeling queasy and weak-kneed.
I'm getting around pretty good, and the chemo really hasn't been super bad. The worst part of my recovery and my new three-legged life has been my Cushings disease. My cancer is mostly in the background, it's never been painful or even something that I need to consider most of the time (even though it's still there lurking), but the Cushings is front and present, making itself felt every second of every day - my tummy growling all the time because my appetite is ginormous, people asking about my naked butt because my hair (3 months post surgical shaving) still hasn't grown back, wanting to play but my one back leg doesnt have the muscles any more to do the things I've always done, I have a super itchy skin rash and what's left of my hair is now falling out.
But before you all start feeling too sorry for me and my plight, remember this: cancer has taken some of my parts, but I'm still here! I'm still the Woo! Its been nearly four years since my original diagnosis. I've had 5 surgeries, radiation therapy, two rounds of chemo and I'm still here! And I'm still Woo enough to get in trouble, still Woo enough to growl at my Monkeybutt sister for trying to steal my dinner, still Woo enough to want my special place on the bed. I am The One and Only Woo and for those of y'all out there, the butt is naked cuz I like it that way!!!!!! And if you don't -- too bad for you!
Rio aka The Woo

Yay Rio, Three months! Pawsome! Chloe just celebrated her 9 month ampuversary and its only now that her fur is FINALLY grown back in completely. She is still missing some of her guard hairs, but for the most part its not noticeable to people who don't know otherwise. I heard that brushing helps stimulate the hair follicles to grow, maybe a light brush of the area once in the while might help. But like I said, it has taken Chloe's hair about 9 months to fully grow back in.
Woo, woo!!

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Happy 3 Month Ampuversary Rio! A big whoo hoo to you! Awesome to hear that you're doing so well! We are celebrating with you with lots of treats and ice cream! Here's to many, many more ampuversaries and celebrations.
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
I'm late to the party, too! That just mean you can ask mom for another special treat today to continue your celebration!
So glad to hear you are doing well and loving your new life.
