Novak's breeder Tracy Wessel is very glad that I had you guys for support with Novak's amputation and she wanted to share the videos that I made for the physio plan and wrote a beautiful note and she is sharing the tripawds foundation link so people can donate.
There the text that she wrote:
I'm sharing these with permission. Some of you do not know all of our Novak's story. Novak went to Canada with many hopes and dreams to be a top sporting companion. His early agility trials were fantastic, and he also became a great disc dog, earning Regional Disc Dog Champion for Montreal. He had a fracture a couple years ago, while in the care of a sitter. The fracture was irreparable. After a couple years, he had chronic pain, so the Sandra was persuaded to amputate the affected limb, by the veterinarians. They offered that it would give him a life without pain. Because of Novak's high drive, this actually became a problem for him. He gets too excited and will frog crawl. So now he has a more structured and quiet program, to prevent injury. I'm so pleased to share a few of these videos to demonstrate the physical rehabilitation he is going through. It's important to say that the Tripawds organization is assisting in supporting this therapy. What a worthy cause; and they have taught Sandra so much, and provided great guidance.
So if you have a dog returning from injury, or a new Tripawd, please understand that they are worthy of the same physical therapy that we would expect to go through for any other (human or animal). This is so important for a high drive dog that will otherwise hurt himself, as Novak was.
Please consult your veterinarian before beginning an exercise program with any dog returning from injury, or working through an injury, or newly living as a Tripawd.
They give you their whole life, their whole heart... why would you give them less?

So, I just want to share it and say thank you again! Without you guys, I would never be where I am now and Novak, wouldnt be the dog he is and will become.
That's really beautiful!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
You and Tracy truly made our day here! That is so nice of her to tell folks about this community, what an honor!
I'm also glad you shared it, because now I have a much better picture of Novak and what an incredible blow and challenge it has been for you both. It's SO hard when you start a life together expecting one thing and then everything changes drastically. Knowing what a hard-driving dog Novak is also makes sense. It's in his DNA and to make him slow down a bit must have thrown everything in turmoil. I think I understand that part of your struggle now. But I also know without a doubt that the way you have both overcome things these last few months is proof that Novak and you are going to experience even greater rewards than before Novak lost his leg. We're honored to be a part of that journey!
