Hi ev1!

We have been here for a little over a year now, and even though the traumatic disaster of an accident that happened to a feral cat that decided to make my yard "our yard" is what brought us here, some of the most beautiful people that I have had the privilege to befriend has kept me here. The word that is spread here is of hope and light, and when things get dark the love, compassion, and support of a family that most of us has never laid eyes on, holds our hand in times of grief. The love is real. The compassion is something that I wish the rest of the world could concentrate on and behold.

Before Tripawds, before Huckleberry "coolest feral cat in the world", was another family of furbabies that we lost to old age, and illness. I miss them every day. My heart dog was Rosie.. when she was bad it was "Rose Marie.." In the beginning she was bad more than she was good, lol. In the end, she was my light. My light got very sick and we had to help her cross.. just over 6 years ago. Since then I have just kinda concentrated on the tasks at hand... ie.. feral cats in my yard, feral baby kittens found under my boss' car, dogs that lived in a shelter for 2+years... and a lost looking "Stay Puft Marshmallow" fluffy adult kitty that found his way into a shelter not once, but twice.

I wanted to have Rosie's paw print tattooed somewhere.. her paw print got too dry I guess and it is in pieces in the bag that came back with her ashes. I have too many vet bills to make a gem out of her ashes right now, but its on my bucket list. When I do it, it will be a diamond... saving pennies until then 🙂

I have been to Etsy a handful of times looking for something for Rene to create, but nothing hit me. Finally I found the little heart with the three paw prints on it and I thought.. that would be beautiful on my heart crystal, which is rose quartz. On the crystal wrapped in sterling thread is my birthstone, a garnet. I know the fact that I am a stubborn old goat surprises NOBODY here laughing

I just got them in, omd they are beautiful. Thank you Rene, I am not sure what I expected.. but it surpassed it! In my little bag was just the sweetest of packages, and a card, pin, and cookies. When I took them out, I could just feel the love that pours into Rene's work. I finally got one of the hearts attached to my necklace and of course I have to post it because it just made my heart smile.

I love all the work she has done for me.  I haven't been able to wear my necklace for the past month because of shoulder surgery and you just don't realize what you have to use your arm for until you can't do it.

This is very beautiful 🙂

I hope your recovery is quick. I haven't had the surgery but it's in my genes lol. Watched my dad (3 times) and a few others muddle through it but it was def worth it in the end. Please feel better soon!

Well paw shucks I can't think of a better way to start the week off. THANK YOU Jackie, it was an honor to create something that you waited so long to get. Rosie was such a special girl, and I'm thrilled I could come up with a tribute that was just right.

I agree that the friendship, love and compassion here is something the world badly needs. I have no doubt that what goes around here  sends ripples of pawsitivity out into the world to make it better. That's what animals do for us humans, teach us how to be kinder all-around. They are so wise!

Thanks gals, you all made my day.

Sally,

Thank you, so sweet of you to say that. Rosie was definitely a ham... she saw a camera and just struck a pose lol. She was so smart. That heart goes with my stone like it was made for it. I fiddled with it all day long today, lol.

Rene,

Aren't they though? There is nothing like coming home from work and getting Woooo wooo wooo from Bo, lol. And Mitchell is back to greeting me too along with Oscar. Huck and Andy wait for me to go upstairs then they muckle me lol. I is such a nice change from dealing with problems all day long, which is a fair part of my job. Thank you again, you did just a pawsome job!

Lots of love and hugs

Sorry to intrude on your topic, but I just had to jump in here and add my thanks to Rene for creating another masterpiece for me. Sweet, wonderful Linda wanted to commemorate Nitro's 1 year angelversary and this is what Rene came up with...she designed 2 versions of this beautiful bracelet to honor my Warrior:

Nitro 11 1/2  yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms.  Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
