I have been thru so much in the past 5 month, and I really dont think I have done it with out all of you here. Amputation is hugely scary and stressfull, Then Mr's other medical issues. We see a light at the end of this tunnel though.
I couldnt image life with out this community (even when I go dark for long periods), And I feel like I have learnt so much and become a bigger person thru this and you.
Mr Quixote says thank you as well. With out this community I would have put him in a plastic bubble, or a stroller and never let him touch the ground again. There would have been more nights where I just held him and cried. I have 6 dogs and I love and adore them all. But Quixote is special.
AHHHHH he is licking the Bowens Lesion thing. of course he is. They look super painful.
Oh and that dog is so happy (before the amputation he was NOT happy rarely wagged his tail, growling snappy bitey), he has happy tail (split the end of it open) so I will have to find a way to deal with that. NO MORE SURGERIES!
Bless your heart. I know exactly how you feel. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we wouldn't have been able to get through Harmony's illness if it weren't for this community.
Give Quixote a big ole smooch for me!

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

Yes, if you have to be on this journey, there is not better place to be for love, support, invaluable information AND an understanding like no others can! Learning from the first hand experiences of others is something that cannot be "taught" in vet school.
I joined this community over two years ago in an absolutely panicked state.....felt like I was drowning in a sea of fear. The community through me a lifeline and pulled me to the safety of their shore.
And thanks to YOU and Quixote for being here and sharing your journey! We all learn from each other!
Keep on wagging Quixote!! "Happy tail syndrome" is a good thing to have around here!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Quixote, you are such a strong handsome pup, you're gonna do just great! Keep it up!
