Guess What? I am not the only tripawd, (will sort of) that lives on my block. The winter vistor that lives right across the street have at their home in Canada a tripawd. He stayes behind with their son when they come to Arizona for the winter. He lost his leg due to an accident. They said I get around even better than their dog. Most of my neighbors thought I was mean just because I give out a big bark when they walk by, I only wanted them to come over to the gate and give me a pet, but now my reputation in the neighborhood is changing and I am getting some pets and that makes me sooo happy. Think I will go out and sit by the gate, maybe I will get lucky someone will go by and give me a pet.

Jo Ann & Tasha,
There were three members of TriPawds.Com here in this city, and we know of an additional two that live here as well but are not members. Too bad that they did not bring their TriPawd down from Canada. I am sure that it would have been nice to meet nose to nose. However, I do understand, because I have heard that it is not easy to get dogs across the border. This is why Allie and I did not cross into the Canadian portion of Glacier National Park when we visited.
Stay warm there in Arizonia. Mom and Dad used to come for our Winter rainy season, but we did not last season or this. I always liked RV Trips!!!

Wow Tasha... What a small world, eh?
Glad to hear that your neighbors are now finally getting to know the sweet and loving you. You can tell your neighbors and/or their son to join our Tripawds family in case they want some extra support for their doggie!!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
Ahh... Tasha that is great!!! Hope you get to romp and play with your new friend..
Shilo diagnosed with osteosarcoma 9/4/2009, amputation 9/9/2009. ShiloAnne lost her battle 11/23/2009 where she regained her fourth leg and is patiently waiting for her parents to join her. We will always love you baby girl.
It is not much trouble to take dogs across the US border (living or dead, I can attest to both). For the living, you simple need a rabies certificate which most of you probably have. No Big Deal. They usually do not even bother to look at it even when I offer the piece of paper. And I don't think most of you need info on the latter.
(I don't even know if the customs person realized that Tazzie was no longer 'with the living' on the recent return trip to Canada. Maybe the customs agent was being polite. Or maybe he just did not know Tazzie well enough to know that Tazzie never lay down or slept in the car once in his entire life. It was dark and he probably just thought he was sleeping. Yeah, that's all Tika needs for her ghoulish humor to kick in, eh?)
By the way, sweet Cherry and PaPa, the "Canadian portion of Glacier National Park" is "Waterton Lakes National Park" and close to where I have done most of my fieldwork. Very beautiful. My last pup and I used to go back and forth on both sides of that border.
Tasha, you just have strong lungs! Its not your fault that people think you're mean. Believe me, I've seen pleeenty of small dogs with small little yips that would take you down in a second. You and Jack and be big bark pals. Jack just met his first tripawd the other day! It's some sort of shih tzu mix (i think) that lost her leg in an accident. I hope you get to meet that doggie some day!
