Tai enjoyed a day of cheeseburgers , car rides and sleeping for her 10 month ampuversary. I'm so very blessed that she is still with me. I love every minute of every day with my best friend.

Unfortunatelly the Palladia is not working and the lung mets are progressing-roughly 20% growth over the past month. Consequently she is quite tired but she still manages a tail wag and some sloppy kisses. I have stopped giving her all supplements, which she is quite okay with, and she is now allowed to have anything she wants food wise. That means enjoying bacon and toast in the morning, cheeseburgers WITH the bun, and all the "bad" grainy foods that have been forbidden for the last 10 months. We are continuing with the Cytoxan, Metacam, Palladia and Cimetidine for the time being. I am adding Tramadol on the Palladia days to help counter the pain in her back from arthiritis. Hope she doesn't get too loopy this time.

On the bright side, I had foot surgery recently and am therefore off of work for 2-3 months. That means I am never away from Tai and we spend almost all day together every day.

With some luck we'll be able to post an 11 month ampuversay shout out in November!! Paws crossed.

Laura and a very special Tai Dog

Tai – 9 yr old lab. Diagnosed Osteosarcoma Dec 18/09. Front right leg amputated Dec 21/09. Started chemo Jan 7/10. Lung mets discovered Sept 16/10. Valiant to the end on Oct 26/10 when cancer reappeared in a leg and we made the decision to set her free. Forever in my heart where not even cancer can take her from me.

Laura and Tai,

Everyone knew that Tai was a very special girl and the way that she has taken on this journey only furthers that knowledge. Cheeseburgers, car rides, and naps sounds like a very perfect way to mark such a wonderful milestone as ten months. I was retired by the time that Miss Cherry had to make her journey, so I can totally understand just how important it is to you to be able to spend almost all day together every day. I know that among my highlights of that time was our truck rides to anywhere I could dream up. While Cherry liked the rides, she liked them even more when we had a task.

We have every expectation that you will reporting on that 11 month and then the year ampuversary. So, you better get to the planning stage for Queen Nova, Miss Cherry, and Paris have all set the bar rather high. We WILL be celebrating this ten month ampuversary with a very special toast to warrior Tai.

Pawsitive Thoughts, Optimism Always, and Long Distant Hugs,

Spirit Cherry's Dad

PS: YEA!!!!!!!! 10 Months!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!

Oh Tai!  10 months is wonderful - no matter how you look at it!  And how utterly wonderful that you got to spend time with your mommy!  I hope she is better but what a wonderful deal for you!

I hope you get to eat lots and lots of food you love!  I'd even suggest some glazed or cake donuts and peanut butter cookies for desert since these are Comet's fav foods!

Congratulations! 10 months is awesome superstar  Sadie LOVED cheeseburgers, and she especially loved the bun with the burger grease on it!  Here's to 11 months and beyond!

Hugs and sloppy spirit Sadie kisses headed your way!

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

10 months IS awesome!  I hate that you had foot surgery, but it warms my heart to think you have all that special time to spend with Tai.  It couldn't have come at a better time. Sending good thoughts for many great days ahead.

Congrats on 10 months! Charlie suggests peanut butter sandwiches, especially if giving the medicine (hard to spit out meds if there is delicious peanut butter covering them!). Although follow up with water. rasberry

Love hearing the celebratory news!

I am so happy for you that you get to spend this time with her.  Congrats on 10 months!  It sounds like a great day to me, sleeping, eating cheeseburgers, more naps, and a little drive around town.  It is shopping day for us, so we will be picking up some ice-cream in Tai's honor!

Happy Ampuversary Tai! 10 months is simply wonderful.

I'm sorry about the foot surgery Laura but it's great that you get to spend your days with Tai. I work (sometimes wink)  from home and feel very fortunate in that It has allowed me so much quality time with my boy. Fortis and Tai seem to be on similar paths. Only one month difference in ampuversaries and both dealing with those nasty lung mets.

We will be keeping an eye out for your 11 month apmuversary post. Tai is a beautiful girl and an inspiration to us all.

Happy Ampuversary Tai superstar

Happy Happy Ampuversary Tai!!!!!!!

I think the way you are spending your day sounds like a PERFECT day to me!!!  and whille surgery is never a fun thing, the timing could not be better.  I was retired when I went through Magic's journey with him and I felt blessed that I did not have a job or other responsibilities at that time...I was able to focus on his needs.

So looking forward to No. 11!!!!!!  (take care of that foot too!!)
