Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Yea Sammy!!
Gee, with all these celebrations I guess I will just get a hotel room across from in-n-out burger and spend the time between meals letting my pants out!
Hope the visit with Dr. Pam is dull, uneventful, and that you have nothing to worry about!

Good for Sammy! So so happy for you all! Keeping with your song theme, Elizabeth, here is my awful contribution:
Oh say does Sam's tail-spangled banner yet wave, o'er the hand with the treats and Sam's gnomes and his slaves! (Oh boy do I need to apologize for this one!)
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/
I actually like the song, Dakota Dawg's mom ...
And, hooray for Sammy's sweet sixteen!! Elizabeth, I hope everything goes well for you today at Dr. Pam's.

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.
I love the song, and will be mentally embellishing it as time goes on 🙂 Thank you! Little MB Rocket, you are doing the same thing as my monkeybutt Titan with his new Christmas toys, so you are in good company.
Well, we just got back from Dr. Pam. His newest lump is just a lump no icky cancer. She gave him a massage that he loved, he layed back and stretched his big feet out as far as he could. He loves himself some Dr. Pam, no doubt! Good news, and not so good news, his infection in the bladder is gone, but there are more red blood cells than before, so he is off his chemo for a month, then a recheck will be in order.
The good news is, the longer he can fight and win, the better chance he has into going into remission! So fight on my darling boy, we are so proud of Sammy 🙂
Hugs to all, and happy HAPPY Hoppy new year!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
Hooray for a good update. Keep fighting, Sammy!
All the best to you and Sammy in 2012,
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
