It was a year ago today that I let my girl Ruthie leave for the Bridge. There isn't a day that I don't think of her and I still miss her dearly. She was brave and happy through it all until that last week. She will always be in my heart.
So today I will remember all the great times, and not the sadness of a year ago. I will not let that define her life. She was just a happy smiling fun loving girl and I thank her for sharing her friendship with me.
Pat
Pat,
Wow, I didn't realize that you lost Ruthie just 2 days after we lost Skyler. I'm not sure where the last year went, but it seems like it was just a short time ago that we were cuddling with Skyler (and Chloe). Those first few months after losing her sure were tough, but the happy memories keep her alive in our hearts. Remembering the great times you had with Ruthie is a great way to honor her.
Sending you many golden hugs. Ruthie is having a great time at Rainbow Bridge with all the other Tripawd heroes and other furbabies.

pat it doesn't seem possible it's been a year since losing ruthie. such a beautiful and brave girl - she is definitely looking over those tripawds on earth who need an angel. sending our best thoughts your way.

Love Never Ends
Oh Pat,
I'm glad to hear you are thinking happy thoughts today. When we lose someone we love so much our hearts never really mend, we just some how learn to live with the memories of them and hope on our bad days we can get through it.
I hope today is a good day for you. We'll all be thinking about you and Ruthie.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
We too shall celebrate the wonderful life you gave sweet Ruthie. Thanks for checking in!

Ruthie, there is no doubt you were loved. We thank you and Pat for allowing us to share your lives for a short time.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Pat,
We have so many things in common - same breed, same diagnosis, both rear leg amps, both far too young for this. I feel like you are one step ahead of me in this sad but bittersweet journey. How many of us would truly love our dogs in the same way, with the same depth and complexity and enormity?
Thank you for sharing. I hope your memories are bringing many smiles today. Hugs to Tess.

TATE ~ Forever in our hearts.
Pat,
I can't believe that it's been a year - I can only imagine how much you still must miss your sweet Ruthie. I can so appreciate what you write....you will not let this sadness of losing Ruthie define her life. I need to remind myself of that - thanks for sharing this. We are thinking of you and your Ruthie girl today. No tears, no sadness, just lots of great memories and happy smiles.
Lots of golden hugs to you and Tess,
Kami, Angel Mackenzie, Kobe and puppy Scarlett
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Pat, it doesn't seem possible it's a year since you lost your girl. Thank you for sharing this - I too take much comfort and find strength in your promise to not let sadness define Ruthie's life, especially when there was so very much more.
Hope you found much peace and joy and even laughter in your memories of her today.
