It was a week of hot and humid upper 90's to 100 degree heat recently in Virginia. I don't have air conditioning and can deal with it okay. I mentioned thoug that, as I "mature" it was becoming increasingly sucky! The hot humid days when we have enough of a rain shower to make steam come off the ground...and I have to leave the windows open all the time for air...yeah, pretty sucky especially at nighttime. I've lived like this forever, so it really was no biggie...it was just getting harder somehow.

I shared with her my brainstorm that I treated myself to a movie so I could sit in air conditioning for a couple of hours! "TED"was great!

Couple.of days later...well here ....look for yourselves!

NO MORE SLEEPING IN 90° heat at night with sheets oaking wet with humidity!!!

And the dogs love it as much as I do! One drawback! Once the dogs get upstairs in their cool bedroom, their energy level.soars and it's playtime!!!

Merry Myrtle & Feankie..quiet bedtime..not!: http://youtu.be.....8hxECohqkc

So how, how on earth do I EVER explain how touched I was by this "random act of kindness" from MICHELLE AND KARMA?? Words are so inadequate! Yes, of course I cried tears of joy! Of course I hugged that box! And I thanked BRENOL and SASSY for allowing me the privilege of being on this journey with them, and with their humans.

Jerry brought all of us together for a reason....every single person here is meant to be....every connection we form with each other here is far beyond a "diagnosis". It's a vehicle where love and compassion can be shared in the purest form of unconditional selfless giving. We touch lives here in so many ways. And that creates a ripple effect that can reaches out way beyond this Tripawd Universe of Love.

MICHELLE and KARMA, thank you for being a shining example of what selflessness and compassion actually look like. You don't just make ripples here...you make waves!

See the D R E A M above our bed? Remember when you are seemingly out of options, you have your dreams. Dreams can come true...

With love and gratitude,

Sally, Happy Hannah, Merry Myrtle, Frankie (Bob and Nellie too)

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

WOW!

Not a day goes by when we aren't touched by the amazing kindness within this community. To think that three people who have never met in person, all living in different parts of the country, could grow this kind of friendship online... well it just rocks our world.

The Tripawds Nation is making the world a better place for all! Thank you so much for all of the kindness you show to one another (with extra shout-outs to Karma & Michelle!). Even something as awful as cancer can bring so many wonderful things into our life if we're open to the possibilities. Not an easy thing to do when you're in the middle of it, but for those of you who are, I hope this helps.

clap

You are welcome Sally.   I know what it is like here in Iowa and can only imagine the heat there but if what we did helps to brighten and make your life more enjoyable and able to sleep that is what friends are for.  I love you my friend.  Besides I consider you family and Sassy would have wanted you guys to be comfortable.

Loved the video.  Now I see that Big Barker Bed on the floor beside your bed it better be for Frankie & Myrtle LOL.  😉

This is the random act of kindness that helps restore my faith in humankind ... I am so over so much right now (too much stress) and things like this bring SUCH a huge smile to my face! Thank you Karma and Michelle!!! I cannot even imagine that kind of heat / humidty w/out AC. Even in LA right now, it's a little humid but there is a cool breeze ... sometimes ... but nothing like what I remember from my days in New Orleans.

This community is amazing ... and yes, to think we have never met each other and yet we are friends, bonded forever by the fur-babies that brought us together. Our angels looking over us...

what a blessing!

much love,

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

What a wonderful surprise! Thank you Michelle and Karma for being the wonderful, caring friends that you are. And Sally....what would we all do without you? You definitely deserve to have every good thing come your way.

Now, tell those two big oafs that they need to get on the doggie bed and let Mom have some room to stretch out in the cool of the evening!

Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Oh my goodness, this is beautiful. Michelle/Karma it is going to be 95+ this weekend. It could not have come at a better time. You both are so wonderful to do that for Sally. She said to me the other day that she can only imagine how all of our souls had gotten together in the past and decided we were all going to have three legged dogs and meet up here one day. It was planned from the beginning. Every path crosses for a reason, and we are all bound by compassion for other creatures and there is so much of it that it was bound to spill out to each other.

Hugs to everyone!

Sally Sally Sally

You are so very welcome.  You put such good energy out in the universe that good "karma" has to come around, and I have to be a proponent of that.  Michelle mentioned it, and it just was a "no-brainer".  We love you and your heart.  And we want you and your babies to have a comfortable room.  (And I had the same thought Michelle did, that Big Barker Bed on the floor better be for the pups).  I hope get much comfort out of the A/C.

Lots of love,

Karma, Adelaide and the crew (including the new Maggie May), and always with us our special angel Brendol

Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury.  Her amp was on 10/1/12.  She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera.  We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Ditto what everyone already said!! In general, I am not so hot on the human race for a ton of reasons. But the love and compassion I see shared here is beyond all bounds and reason and restores a little bit of my faith in the basic goodness of us all, at least in peeps that share their lives with tripawds! I agree with all of the comments. Michelle and Karma, thank your for your kindness in keeping our Sally cool. Sally is always so welcoming and loving to those joining this group and their dogs and cats. Frankie and Myrtle have a great Mom and I suspect she sleeps on the Barker bed since she has mentioned how comfortable it is.

I'd send some cool weather down from Canada but we aren't cool and many areas are suffering from forest fires. I've even had to set out bowls of water for the wasps!

I guess we all do the best we can and need to help our others when we can. Thanks for making this site a community.

This community is full of truly amazing people and earth angels!!  I am so blessed to have stumbled across this community when my Leland was going through his amputation.  Like several have mentioned this simple act of kindness shows there's still humanity out there...we just don't see it that often.

So thank you Michelle and Karma for your loving hearts!!  The temps out here on the east coast have been pretty miserable as of late and I couldn't fathom trying to live day to day (much less sleep) in these crazy hot temps without an A/C.  I'm sure Merry Myrtle and Frankie are grateful for the relief as well and hey...it's a party in the bedroom!!!

Hugs to all!!

Sahana and her Angel Leland and Lucian too
