Shout out for Zoe, a milestone of neurotic behavior

My apologies for this post, obviously it doesn't take much to get that Tripawd parental pride going for me.  Zoe has always been a food hoarder, she was a stray so I have always assumed it was a survival instinct habit that she has held on to.  The other day I went to the pet store and thought in addition to her normal liver treats she would get a fancy baked cookie as an extra special treat.  I got home gave it to her, she took off with it, I thought she would take it to a rug and chow down.  I continued to put away groceries and then went looking for her. She was in the back of the closet in the spare bedroom standing up inside an extra large spacebag burying that thing.  I first panicked thinking she can't get out! But then once she had covered it well enough with the extra linens she hopped right out of the bag like business as usual.  I know this is weird for me to be so excited but this is something that Zoe pre cancer, pre amp would have done, so every little thing she does that shows me that she is still my same little neurotic hoarder makes me happy! Anyway, thanks for allowing me to gloat.Smile

Gloat all you want! That's what this forum is for, and you have no reason to apologize, except for the fact that you didn't have a video camera when you needed one most! 😉

Feel free to gloat any time you want to!  I enjoy hearing stories of our dogs going back to their old selves.  Hugs to Zoe.

If you feel that it is gloating, the gloat all you want.  I think that it is just a great feel good story about how wonderful "Return to Normal" feels, and we all know how much we need these feel good stories now.  Thanks and keep the video camera handy (like I have never missed such a great shot - NOT).

Thanks again for the smile,

Bob & Cherry

Gloat away- its always so cool to see our 'old dog' come out in our 'new dog', until she just becomes our dog again.

And that's a great story- Mag used to hide stuff all the time- or she thought she did. She did more of an 'air' bury. She would put her prize in the corner of the couch, then 'air bury' with her nose (not much length in a pug nose), she wouldn't actually cover it with anything, then she would walk away satisfied no one would find it.sf-laugh

I hope Zoe continues to do well-

I love this story.  Our tripawds are the same dogs on three legs that they were on four.   They know it, they just have to convince us!
