Elly and I took a short class in March called Strength, Balance & Body Awareness, I posted some pictures in her first Blog Post.
I took the class partly to work on her confidence since she is quite skittish around new things. As a matter of fact yesterday I had to give her two minutes to get used to a new rock on the front porch... a small rock... but I digress.
I am always looking for new ways to entertain and exercise Elly. The trainer said that sitting up or sitting pretty and rolling over are good core exercises. I didn't think Elly could do sit pretty because she is a rear amp with no femur left at all, but what do I know!
I made this short video to send to the trainer to show her our progress. We are taking another SB&BA class later this month.
Paws up!

WOW! That's pretty darn kewl! Congrats!
Wyatt Ray is jealous. He can roll over but he can't sit pretty like that for more than a split second. I don't ask him to do it often just because I know his remaining hip isn't in the greatest condition and I don't want to stress it. I wonder if sitting pretty is easier for smaller Tripawd dogs?

Wow what an amazing student Elly makes! Smart as a whip that little lady is
Yes, she is picking up tricks quickly- roll over took two days!!! Her foster mom implied that she wasn't too bright... I should send her this vid!

I have no idea- I didn't think she could do it at all! I don't think we will ever do it without her balancing with her paw on my hand- but who knows. I've had to hold onto her paw a couple times to keep her from tipping toward the amp side.
I was wondering with an amp like Maggie had or Wyatt where there is a little piece of femur left with a muscle pad if it would be easier to balance? Smart not to take a chance with his hip though- I forgot he had that issue.
