It's tomorrow but we'll start celebrating early! She's moving really, really slowly ... unless we go across the street (she was off leash and I had to run to catch her) so I think that it is in part mental for her and part physical. I can't "see" anything really wrong w/her rear leg but she seems to be moving more labored somehow. I am chalking it up to the chemo! As far as I can tell (and I've been home w/her since her last treatment) she hasn't done anything that could have injured it. She just likes to keep me on my toes!
What a long way we have come in 3 months ... truly - now she sits on the other side of the room at night (instead of the bathroom) or at my feet. She hasn't coughed in about 3 days - that's when I started noticing that she hadn't done the coughing thing when she wakes up. I can't believe the chemo really worked that fast but who knows!
We spent sometime outside today ... it was a bit chilly for us (about 60). But she loves it and loves the fresh air. She got scratches from people walking by! All in all ...so far a good day! She is still a crazy champion of an eater which makes me happy that this chemo has had almost no side affects.
Hunting kitties (sorry Jill), smelling the flowers and being a dog! She's a lucky girl! 🙂 I love this little face!!!! Smooches! She is my best girl.... so proud of my fighter dog! I can tell she's fighting and she's doing great and we are blessed and happy for EACH day we have together!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
The pics are great but that 2nd one is just the sweetest. Congrats you two...every day is a gift.
Hugs,
Amy & Spirit Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Hoppy ampuversary, Shelby.
Kathi and murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Shelby says thank you all and to please ask mommy for In-N-Out for dinner with frosty paws for dessert! 🙂
We do take a lot of the same photos (kissing on her face) but I swear, they warm my heart and those are the memories I will forever cherish. But for today, we live in the moment, thankful and grateful for all that we have!
Today is the last day of my 'stay-cation' with my girl and we had to run by the vet this a.m. for blood work after her last chemo. Happy to report the white blood cells were where they should be and all her other blood work looked good. She's still anemic but I didn't think that would go away in a week. However, when they brought her out to me, she did her fainting thing and they saw it first hand. I think it was in part excitement and in part they just took blood. They didn't seem as freaked out once she came out of it so maybe that's normal to them? It never stops being scary to me - especially when she hit her head on the floor (I caught her before she did it again).
But for now, she's snoozy, snoozy and I'm going to snuggle up w/her and enjoy our 3 month celebration! We are so lucky ... it's not w/out challenges but she is HAPPY and that has been my goal all along! She is indeed #shelbystrong!

Thank you all! We didn't go for In-N-Out (mama needs to dial it back on the eating out and snacking) but she did get FROSTY PAWS to celebrate!
Cheers to our Tripawd family!!!
