I know it took me a while to start a new thread here. It's been a week since we got the

ALL CLEAR ON THE X-RAYS!!!

again! 16 months post amp and diagnosis!

it took me so long for two reasons: while I am completely thrilled, obviously, I can imagine this to be bitter sweet (to say the least) for people that didn't get all this time and I really don't want to add to anyone's pain. And secondly because, of course, we weren't done quite yet. The bloodworks showed fairly bad liver values that my vet felt should be checked out. So a week after the x-rays, as in yesterday, we had an ultrasound.

Again, everything looks good. It was a little tough on my mother, who lost her dog to a hidden liver tumor inspite of ultrasounds and from her experience I know that anything can happen at any given time, but: we've done all we could. That is the one thing I've always wanted to be able to say, and now I can. And it has worked for us. For however long. I am thankful.

Amy put it best the other day: they could live even ten more years and it would still not be enough.

But to anyone who's still in the decision making process or has just started on this journey: there's hope! Look at us! No, you probably won't get to heal your beloved companion but you may get a lot more time to make the most of. And that, to me, right now, means the world.

Thank you all for your continuous support. We love you.

So happy for you Tina!  You and Manni deserve this!  Never ever feel you don't!  Those of us who didn't get much time still get validation from those of you who do!  I'd never want anyone who gets more time to feel anything but happiness.  Evil cancer stole our Max nothing else and I'm truly thrilled that others can give cancer a boot in the a*s* for us!  Give Manni a hug and kiss from us and see you next week!  So excited to meet my new German "friend"!

And Manni is EXACTLY why we say STATISTICS DON'T MEAN SQUAT AROUND HERE!!!!

To quote the GREAT BRUNO MARS: "Ya' don't belive me (Manni) just watch!!"

This is such GREAT news! 🙂 Victories like this MUST be shared!!! No one would start this journey...no one would get THE most precious extended time EVER.....no dog or cat would get more time for spoiling and Starbucks Puppacinno...if we didn't have victories to hope for! 🙂 🙂
Linda got additional time with MAX who was pain free all the extra bonus time he had. I with Happy Hannah, and almost everyone here!''And that was because we had victories like Manni before is to give us hope 🙂

So Missy, BOTH of your reasons for not posting have been blown out of the water! 🙂 🙂

And BTW, Manni's little "man cave" is adorable!!! He clearly has made it his comfy corner 🙂

Now go give that boy a scoop of ice cream and some cheese pizza!!! 🙂

Love and hugs!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS...Give your Mom an extra hug for us, okay? She has a good little Guardian Angel watching over her.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Yay Manni & Tina.  You are kicking butt.  I agree with what Linda said.  All of you who blow those stats out of the water we cheer you on.  Yes, we would have loved to do that but the cards didn't play in our favor we all fought the best way we could.   Never ever feel like you shouldn't or can't post the positives no matter what happens around here 🙂

Can't wait to meet you in less than a week.  Just think next week at this time we will all be getting ready to go to the park and party 🙂

And, this, Tina, is why we all love you and Manni. You are so open and honest and thoughtful of and to others because it may be hard on them. That is compassion and empathy of the highest quality.

As for MAJOR MANNI, well, he, as usual, looks FANTASTIC!!!!! What an incredible, incredible, and inspirational fella!!!!! We would never be able to go forward if we did not have TriPawd heroes like Manni!!!!! Sooooooo SHARE him with us as often as possible because Manni, well, you GOT THIS MANNI!!!

( As for liver values- which can fluctuate- have you talked to the vets about using milk thistle?)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Not sure how I missed this post.  Congrats to Manni!  That is just terrific news.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.
