Hi all! It’s been a little while since we have checked in (I’m still on here almost daily reading and updating myself on everyone).
First and foremost, I want to say thank you again to everyone who reached out to us in the beginning of this journey. It’s so difficult and your support and kindness meant more than you’ll know.
With that said, if anyone is reading this who is facing the decision of amputation or is just starting out their tripawd journey..let me tell you, it’s the most gut wrenching first few days but also the most beautiful and humbling days while you watch your beloved furry friend navigate and push forward. The day after Sadie’s amputation I told my husband that I regretted our choice to amputate, I felt it was so cruel and barbaric. But then something happened..Sadie got stronger and stronger, literally by the hour. She became herself. She possesses a confidence and perseverance that is truly remarkable. I have NO regrets now, and while we don’t know if the cancer may have spread, we are so happy with our baby and SHE is happy to be with us right now in the present, day by day. My point: if you’re just starting or still deciding what to do, while I’m aware every case/animal is different, follow your heart and know no matter how hard today is, tomorrow usually gets a little easier. Utilize tripawds and all the support you can get from this wonderful site. As corny as it sounds, tripawds and all these beautiful people I don’t know personally but yet, I feel connected to them as we share similar stories, really got me through some of my darkest times.
We are 4 weeks post amp, and you would mever know! Sadie gets around like she’s been doing this for years now. We do have our occasional slips and falls but we are all learning together. Sadie even SWAM on her own a few days ago. It was incredible. After a few times getting in the water in mom and dads arms, she was ready to do her own thing. Thanks again everyone for your love, support and comments. We love you!! 🐶
Oh my goodness! So wonderful to see Sadie chillin' out enjoying life, thank you!! I am really happy for you, sending huge cyberhugs!
I cannot believe she is swimming all on her own, that is just amazing. When you said swim I just assumed she would have a floaty vest on.. unbelievable.. and she looks so HAPPY!!!
You must be thrilled, this is what makes it all worthwhile
Sending tons of hugs and lots of love

Love love love the photos! You are definitely not technically challenged, you got it! And we love that she is livin' large and having a great summer with her most favorite people in the world. That is such a gift!
And thank you for sharing you wisdom about this journey. No it's not easy at first, but we learn sooo much from their resilience and ability to move forward with life. It's a gift that stays with us forever. And now, Sadie's story will be there to give hope and inspire others when they too have doubts like you did. THANK YOU for taking time to invite us to this celebration!
