It has been 17 months since Rusty joined the world of Tripawds! He is a real miracle in that he continues to do so well after 17 months. We have always hoped and prayed that he would be with us, but never allowed ourselves to count on it. We continue to enjoy each and every day that we have with him and he is so appreciative of being a part of our family. He receives so much love from other dogs and their owners in our community, which he really thrives on; even when he is not feeling well, seeing one of his friends gives him an immense boost.
Rusty will be three on July 30th, which is 5 days after his 18th month Ampuversary. We are planning on another birthday party for him and Dr.'s Macy & Huber are planning on attending. We are waiting for Dr. Macy to firm up his schedule when he will be in the desert at the end of July as to which day it will be. When we had his 2nd birthday party last year, we were not planning on being able to celebrate his 3rd birthday this year; what a guy!
I am going to get another surfing video made for his birthday; his old float gave out and we picked up a new one at Costco. Unfortunately, it was not as thick as his old one and he had a lot of trouble keeping his balance as it kept folding up under him. We ordered a replacement which came Friday; he was much happier this weekend.
Chuck & Rusty
Rusty is a Labradoodle who was diagnosed with level 3 Fibrosarcoma on January 16th, 2010 and had his left hind leg amputated on January 25th, 2010 five days before his 18 month birthday. Please see Rusty's blog @rusty.tripawds.com. He is putting up one heck of a fight against this terrible disease.

Hey Rusty! Pawty on dude, you are PAWESOME!!!!! Congrats!
Watch out for those generic dog life preservers. That's why we prefer to carry Ruff Wear's Float Coats, they are indestructible and they fit great on Tripawds. Can't wait to see your next video.

Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Wowza! That's a great number! Here's to many more ampuversaries and to catching many more waves!
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Oh! Seventeen is a beautiful number. Rock on, Rusty!
