Can you believe its been 6 months since Rileys amputation!!! Wow
It was also a year ago this month that she was first misdiagnosed with arthritis in her shoulder and when she ended up breaking her leg in December is when they compared the x-rays and realized they had miss it.
Today we did our normal loop around the Rugby / Baseball fields at Cal Poly…..The light blue thing on the left is actually 3 porta potties and my truck is farther down from that – we walk all the way to the top of the fields and all the way around and back down to the the fence way down there at the trees….We stopped at the 1/2 way mark for a photo shoot!!!
We also had our first doggy chiropractor appt this week……she walked out of there with a prance in her step and for the first time in about 2 months her back legs were spaced far apart – her hips were turning in and she was stepping on her back feet when she walked and stopped wagging her tail which all started a couple months ago once she started getting back to her routine and was busy being a dog and "go slow" and "take it easy" went right out the window……
So tonight we celebrate the milestones we have endured this past year and expecially this past 6 months – complete with belly rubs and chicken strips and maybe some ice cream!!!!!
Riley you are a superstar! Your mom says so! We are all proud of your many accomplishments, your bravery, your determination. Here's wishing you another six months of life, love, and happiness.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Hoorah for ampuversaries and for celebrating all the special days we get with our pooches. Hoorah for celebratory ice cream!
Keep on going, Riley. We want to celebrate many more with you!
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Oh! WOW! Riley that is just the best news EVER!!!!!
I can't believe it's been 6 months!!
But missing out on chicken strips and ice cream rather sucks. I think you deserve it even if you had some Fancy Feast and kibble! What's a little gas amongst family!
