Thank you all for the well-wishes for the Queen. Just heard back from the vet on Nova's bloodwork and she said it was "Pristine, absolutely perfect." I don't how she keeps dodging the bullet. Sometimes I feel like maybe she never had cancer in the first place. Her initial biopsy was inconclusive, and we proceeded with the amputation not knowing for sure it was even cancer. This morning I decided to pull out the letter I received from CSU back in late November 2008, just to remind myself. Nova's surgeon sent her entire left leg to Colorado for analysis (can you imagine being the FedEx guy delivering a giant Great Dane leg?) The report does indeed list the dx as "Osteosarcoma, fibroblastic, leg". It also indicated that type fibroblastic subtype had a better prognosis than other subtypes.
It's so hard to not keep asking WHY? Why Nova/Trouble/Cemil, etc. Why do we lose others so early, when they have received the same or (maybe even better) care as those who have beaten the odds? Is it because the tumor was caught early? Or is it just a luck thing? I know I'm not the only one here who is so conflicted when I log on to post good news. I want ALL of us to have good news! Argh, it's just so unfair.
Ok, sorry for all the babbling, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the nice comments.

Dane Mom Sue at nova.tripawds.com and Mom to Beautiful Great Dane Queen Nova, a Blind Tripawd, who kicked cancer's butt from 11/08-03/13. The Queen is Spirit Nova now, but her legacy lives on here at Tripawds!
That is fantastic!!!!! Nova, our gigantic, royal miracle girl!
I don't know why some beat the odds and some don't. We always want good news, long lives and happiness for all of our Tripawds. But sometimes, it just shows to go ya that despite all of our attempts to control the outcome of situations, nature always bats last. It stinks, but it's what makes us more humble I suppose.
Nova, you rock!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
Excellent news on the bloodwork. You don't know how many times I've sat and wondered exactly the same thing. What makes the difference or is it just the luck of the draw? Those of us who seem to have beaten the odds are truly blessed. We are here to give others that glimmer of hope that is so very necessary on this journey.
As I've said time and time again. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!
