Being so bitter about Osteosarcoma, almost made me miss a major milestone! I'll have to do the celebrations tomorrow. Good thing Otis can't read a calendar lol
This weekend is the weekend of Otis. If he wants to lay in the wet grass when I take him out in the mornings, I'll join him. He usually tries this on work mornings after I'm dressed for work and cannot sit in the grass with him if it's wet. When he wants munchkins, a walk, a car ride - I'll be his chauffeur.
We used to live next door to a park with a huge field and he loved going there. I'll take him there this weekend. I bet he still knows what "wanna go to the park" means and it's been almost 2 years.
Maybe a burger 🍔 with no bun and an ice cream cone too.
Otis - 121 lbs pre amp - 114 lbs post amp and now 118 lb Great Dane - English Mastiff X. Started limping on 12/24/16. Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 12/28/16 - amputation of front left leg on 1/6/17. Stitches out and 1st round of Chemo on 1/19/17. 2nd round of Carboplatin on 2/10/17 - 3rd round on 3/2/2017. 4th round was scheduled for 3/22/17 - however due to low WBC postponed - 4th Chemo completed on 3/28/17. Had breathing difficulties, stayed in Tufts ICU overnight. Due for 2 more rounds of Chemo but we are opting to go with homeopathy with Dr. Loops instead.
Congrats on six months! And congrats to Otis getting his own weekend. Although he's probably more excited about the potential burger and ice cream.
David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)
Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.
Hoooorrrraaaay for Otis! I hope you have the time of your life at your old stomping ground and get lots of yummy treats to fill your hoppy belly

Dang Otis is one lucky dog! Congratulations Otis 6 months is awesome. I can't wait to hear how it went and what Otis talked you into doing for him. I hope the wet grass was cool and perfectly damp and ripe with great smelling things and that the ice cream was extra creamy and that he flipped out at the mention of the park!
Congrats!
