Hi Everyone!!!
Can't believe today is Chloe's ONE YEAR ampuversary!!!! Time certainly flies very fast! Not only have we had lots of adventures (some great, some not so great), we have enjoyed the journey nonetheless. Some of these adventures included moving to central cal, starting grad school, meeting asea lion (and barney), attending a K9 cancer walk, meeting Mr. Tawp Dawg Wyatt Ray, puddle hopping, emergency vet visits, squeaker chasing, beach exploring and much, much more!!! Life is certainly never boring with a dog!
For those of you who don't know, this is her story: She was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma (soft tissue sarcoma) that was on her left hind hock. Her lymphnodes in her knee indicated the cancer hadn't spread beyond the tumor site (with an aspirate before amp and a biopsy after amp), so we were hoping amputation would "cure" her cancer. And guess what? It has! She had a physical just a while ago and all her blood work etc… came back saying she is a perfectly healthy 10 year old dog. The vet was impressed with the muscle on her remaining right leg and said he could tell she gets plenty of exercise I think its all that beach time .
We are celebrating by going to the beach (after I finish writing this) with her dog friend I am dogsitting (Bailey), having healthy snacks, playing with her squeakers, rub downs and plenty of naps!!! The video below shows her progress over the course of a year: having the tumor (and 4 legs still), pics from the "2 weeks of hell", to her enjoying life on 3 legs. You can "track" her progress by her fur from the shaved spot on her leg. It literally took over 8 months for the fur back there to grow in. Enjoy! (Best viewed full screen, bottom right button).
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
She looks great, Nichole! Happy One Year, Miss Chloe. We are so happy to be able to celebrate with you. Sounds like you have a wonderful celebration planned for her.

Thanks everypawdy!!! I was so looking forward to this day that I started making the video almost a month ago (). Well we had our 2 walks (beach walk early this morning), squeaker time, nap time(s), and we are going to have dinner time in an hour (and she will get some C-H-E-E-S-E)! And Bailey will get some too, everypawdy gets to join in on the fun!
To all you who first helped me through things (advice, encouragement) whom are too numerous to name, I would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is a wonderful community and we look forward to continue giving back when ever we can .
And to all of you new to this community, have FAITH, BREATHE, and take it ONE day at a time. I hope that you all have as much time as possible with your best furry friends and I wish you all good health and happiness!
With Love,
Nicole and Chloe
