It took over six months, but I finally got Max's photo displayed in our favorite restaurant – The Lazy Dog Cafe!
For those of you not familiar with Southern California, The Lazy Dog is a dog-themed restaurant chain owned and operated by the same people who run Mimi's Cafe. Most of their locations have a gallery of random dog photos on the wall for people to see when they come in the front door. A few months before Max died, I contacted their corporate offices and sent them some pictures of him, asking if they would be willing to display his photo (most of the ones on the wall are of dogs belonging to company employees). It took several months, but as of last week, our boy's photo is finally in the gallery at the Lazy Dog in Orange, CA.

He's the only Tripawd I've ever seen displayed in their galleries (I've also been to the one in Huntington Beach). It makes it a little more special for us to go somewhere to eat and know our boy's photo is there.
That brings a tear to my eyes. Max, our hero, is now an ambassador for all to see. It doesn't get any better than that. Rock on Angel Max.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

That is fantastic!!! Great photo...so nice of the restaurant to do that!

What a beautiful photo of Max! Must be so heartwarming to see him up on the wall....very special. If I'm ever down in your area, I'll have to check it out - didn't know that there was a Lazy Dog Cafe - looks like a great restaurant!
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
wow, that's really neat!! sounds like a great place, and nice you can always have your guy keeping an eye on all those patrons!!
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Di and John,
It is great to see that the portrait of one of our hero will be displayed for all the world to see. Max's story should be an inspiration to all who hear and lets people know that TriPawds can have an excellent quality to their lives. It is through tears of joy that we tip our collective hats to you both for the perseverance and a job well done.
Spirit Cherry's Dad
A lot of Max' story is on public display already--a bright-eyed happy dog at the beach, obviously a tripawd, and not caring at all about the missing extra leg. What a tribute! Max will always be a hero. Now more people will know about him. Thanks Lazy Dog corporate management, from me too!
Cemil and mom Mary, Mujde and Radzi….appreciating and enjoying Today
Bravo to the Lazy Dog Cafe!
That's a wonderful tribute to our blue-eyed beautiful boy, Max!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
How cool is that? I'll tell you how cool... simply awesome! 🙂

Hey that's so cool! It's so cool that Spirit Max is spreading the word that tripawds rule!
We didn't know about that cafe, sounds neat.
Are dogs allowed to go there too? If so, we are there next time we're in Southern CA!
And if they aren't allowed, I'm going to stop by and have a word with management 😉
